What are we going to do if San Diego or Boston dumps another catcher? What's Ross going to do? If I'm him, I'm signing somewhere soon, because he could get left out of this musical chairs [expletive] going on now.

I wonder why we picked up Lavarnway NOW, when we passed on him a few weeks ago? Personally, if Ross were to be brought in as Lester's caddy-fine. But I doubt we're keeping 3 C, therefore if Montero gets hurt, a ton of Ross would flat out suck. Not to mention, I have doubts as to what Castillo would bring back that helps the team as much as he does currently.

That doesn't really coincide with Jed basically saying we're at the midway point of what we're trying to do this offseason. But it does basically say we're capped out payroll-wise, unless the OF is an Upton type and not a Gomes or Morse.

I honestly don't think we can add another 23 mill to the payroll or anything remotely close to that. But there's certainly reasons he makes sense to go after now. I wonder if we could get them to take Jaxon and Wood back, if we sent Javy, Vogelbach, and one of Almora or Alcantara? I think a package of those 3 beats anything else that'd be offered and it'd only add 7 mill or so to our payroll for the upcoming season.....

Hi, I have a question for Jed... How awesome are Jon and Theo?? This is why I never understood why Jed left his GM job in SD to come to the Cubs. I'm not saying he doesn't have an important role in the Cubs FO, but in terms of how he's viewed by fans and media he's Theo's assistant. There are absolutely no questions you could ask Jed that you wouldn't ask Theo instead. Giant raise(I think he doubled his salary), gets to work with buddies again, and the challenge of being part of the group that finally does it.....
