  1. Eh, it could go either way from my perspective. I didn't hear the clip, but from what I've read, it may not be that he was saying that he didn't want to sit next to him because he was speaking spanish. That being said, whether or not it was referring to a previous conversation -- it's really, really annoying when broadcasters do that anyway -- and here, at a moment when the material may be questionable, in the already over-PC society in which we live, it was completely stupid on his part.
  2. A lot of democrats hate/resent her as well
  3. I couldn't believe that it was Lidle. What a tragedy. RIP
  4. If you were the Yankees, would you make that trade? Hill, Eyre, and Pie for A-rod? I'm not convinced that I would...
  5. If it meant us getting the extra money needed to outbid some other teams for Zito, Schmidt, or others, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
  6. Well, when the Mets come to down, he could beat up Pedro, knocking him out for the season.
  7. I'd like to see Huckabee win it, but I dont think he's going to run. If he does run, I think he'll win. In the end, I think it's going to be Warner vs. Romney, and a big issue is going to come down to whether or not Americans are ready for a Mormon president.
  8. Finishing strong when your fans need it most?
  9. They're both about "gettin' back in the game"
  10. Kafka told my buddy and I (in the Sargent dining hall) that Fitz said that he really doesn't want to risk him tearing anything further and potentially losing him for the season. And CJ's not 100% either, so it may be more of the same.
  11. I hate this espn360 crap. And this 3rd stringer starting crap
  12. good fot the A's- i'm a little depressed now tree- that picture is really the last time i remember being happy as a Cub fan and that was what...3 FREAKIN years ago- what a tragedy our Cubbies have become- http://www.rockfordima.com/cubs/index.html[/url] How the hell did we go from that to this?
  13. I find him annoying.
  14. Was that Thom Brenaman?
  15. I think it's WhiteSox fans. No other team's fans would go to the other side of their town to celebrate at another team's stadium after winning a championship. Especially if the other team wasn't in the hunt and played less than 4% of its schedule vs that team. Inferiority complex if you ask me
  16. The thing about college sports that makes it so fun is the fanbases. When you're an alumnus of a college, you have a connection to your team that's so much stronger and different than a simple geographic one.
  17. OK so MacPhail, Baker... Hendry please?
  18. Wow, sarcasm? Name one instance where Clemens has exhibited anything below class-act standards, personality wise. throwing the broken bat at mike piazza as he was running to 1b. "I thought it was the ball" I've hated Clemens ever since.
  19. Uhhh, yeah. He's not that fast a healer. I'd like to see a side-by-side of MRIs before declaring a miracle. Not that I have a clue, but somehow I find it difficult to believe God would care much if Shaun Alexander can make the Bear game or not. Hurting or not, if the crack is still there then playing on it might only make it worse. I just read that Holmgren is still waiting to see the MRI and still won't let Alexander play if he sees a crack. link
  20. Although it was really inexcusable at the time, finally seeing a potential Cardinals meltdown makes me feel just a tiny bit better about our 2004 collapse. But yeah... this division was ripe for the taking.
  21. Not to mention that the most popular Cubs(Zambano, Lee) are minorities. Interesting how no one sends racist hate mail to players who don't suck. I'm not psychologist, but it seems to me that these morons are going more along the lines of "hey you suck, AND you're black." Wouldn't a true racist hate anyone who was not in their preferred ethnic group, regardless of how good they were? Yes, the ones that sent death threats to Hank Aaron as he approached the Babe's homerun total were true racists. He was good and they still hated him. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, but I don't remember hearing of Banks, Williams, Jenkins, Dawson or Sosa getting any death threats. Well, Sammy might have after he fell out favor but you get the point. I am by no means advocating or defending those who sent racist death threats, but I have to ask: Were they fans of his team?

  23. My buddy helped me (basically meaning he did the whole thing) set up a computer I bought. AMD 2800+ overclocked, but I have a really cool (no pun intended) thermaltake case. Too bad I only use my thinkpad these days...
  24. Oh I forgot -- everytime Dusty or Larry went to the mound and Neifi stopped by just to say what's up, or maybe he was translating?
  25. Hahahah I was there. My entire section was completely silent for 3 seconds. Then we booed.
