  1. I went last year and got in right when the ballpark opened. It was fairly empty except for the bleachers, but it was great to be there and I got interviewed by Gail Fisher which aired on SportsNite, haha.
  2. I just bought a Ramirez jersey. Here's hoping A-Rod would accept moving back to his natural SS
  3. Bernie Mac? Especially as a Game 6 attendee... pardon me while I vomit.
  4. That's Raftery. Unless your two points are supposed to be separated. oops. Well, I like Lundquist too.
  5. Where's Verne Lundquist!?!?!? He's by far my favorite. "A LITTLE NYLONNN!"
  6. Nice interview. I was impressed by the part about Pierre.
  7. Comparing gambling to steriods is essentially irrelevant in this discussion. The rule said if you bet on baseball, you're banned for life from the HOF. Rose bet in baseball, therefore he is banned. The fact that steriods might be worse might lead the MLB to make a lifetime ban for steriod use, but it has absolutely no bearing on the betting ban and whether or not it's going to be repealed. It's like a guy getting arrested for marijuana possession who says "hey man, cigarettes and tobacco kill way more people every year and they're legal. I'm just smoking pot!"
  8. Haha somehow I end up with a perfect first day. #1 on facebook sure does look nice, but I have a feeling that'll end pretty damn soon...
  9. http://images.rbkcustom.com/email/email_10006_20070314163501940.jpg Yeah, they're a tad ridiculous, but that's part of the fun of it. I'll wear them with pride.
  10. I had Bradley in the sweet 16 last year. I'm usually all over Missouri Valley, haha. My bracket wasn't too great tho -- I'm a sucker for Gonzaga and West Virginia every year.
  11. It's been discussed, but you could overwork a starter to secure a large bet, leave in a reliever and screw the rest of the team because he runs out of gas in August, etc etc So are you saying that there is the possibility that Dusty use to bet on the Cubs, and thus we have today's Mark Prior and Kerry Wood? :) No, Dusty probably wasn't smart enough to make money off of pitcher abuse.
  12. I have no idea what MOT stands for. But, then again, I have no idea what Mott or Hoople stand for, either. I think MOT stands for Member of the Tribe, or Jew. That's the only meaning of "MOT" from Urban Dictionary that seems to fit. Got it. Did you know that former Cubs relievr Miguel Batista was the last Jew (IIRC) who suited up for them? Of course, I guess this where that joke from "Airplane" comes from.. Don't worry, I got that.   You guys will always have Koufax and Greenberg -- not too shabby :D
  13. Thanks. I made some pretty sick ones.

  15. It's a damn shame Enrique Wilson retired
  16. Worst first MLB AB ever.
  17. Roooooooooxannnnnnne Man, I'd love to see this concert. Any idea when tickets would go on sale? Edit: I found some for $410 in section 510. Yikes
  18. Bill Buckner. Although that's more than 5-10 isnt it?
  19. You know, they always talk about 12s over 5s, and I think this year three out of the four 12-5 matchups could go that way. By far my favorite matchup each year.
  20. Ideally I'd like to have Theriot as a super-sub to give several players off days. Of course, for this to happen, it means Izzy and DeRosa will have to play well. I donno... I just really would like to see Cesar have a great season and return to his pre-injury (2004?) form.
  21. I'd really like to see the Cub-face arm patch come back. Either the one from the mid 80s or the early 90s. It's just a really cool logo that I think beats the walking cub design.
  22. Bad grammar and poor spelling make the post and poster lose credibility, imo.
  23. There's ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with short girls, so long as they're not stubby. I'd take a 4'10" girl with a hot body over a 5'10" girl with a hot body anyday, and I've dated both. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to figure out why. No way in hell, and it's not difficult to figure out why. Plus, I only date models and they're no shorter than 5'7-5'8 anyway. :D
  24. - Sammy quoted at Friday's games against the Cubs Love him or hate him, there's one thing everyone can agree about Sammy - There's no "I" in Sammy as he's all about the team. Never miss an opportunity to bash him, do you? RTG, Juiced or not, Sammy Sosa was one of the greatest individual baseball players of all time. However, his antics eventually wore a lot of down us down. I just prefer players like Ryne Sandberg who was IMO 100% correct in his HOF speech. ...and like Grace, 100% jealous of the attention Sosa got.
  25. Shakira's like 4'10 or something. Ew.
