  1. I loved the look on Ozzie's face. It's just funny because you know that this series is EVERYTHING for Sox fans.
  2. Marshall isn't going to do better than Angel, and is more likely to do worse, while Angel isn't going to get consistent work out of the pen if Piniella continues to use the pen like he has. This isn't a hard concept. What is seemingly hard concept is that we need someone who doesn't suck in the bullpen. Our 5th starter need not be lights out. Guzman has the hard stuff to succeed in the bullpen. If we're not going to make a trade soon, why not give it a shot?
  3. Put Guzman in the pen and call up Marshall, who has been awesome of late.
  4. What is Lou thinking? Howry sucks. It's a tight game. Could he not have double switched and saved Wuertz for the 8th?
  5. I like CitiField... it looks a lot like Ebbets Field from the outside
  6. Anyone who is an ESPN insider: Go to espn.com and here Dan Patrick's heated debate on air with David Stern regarding the suspensions. Stern's pretty rude and sounds like an absolute moron.
  7. Did anyon play in the second half besides the starters and Noc? (Before garbage time.) No, and everytime we penetrated, 3 guys collapsed. Why not put Tyrus in there to dump it off to to finish?
  8. Thanks for not putting in Tyrus for no apparent reason, coach.
  9. I like having celebs do it, provided they know the words and are baseball fans.
  10. I love Gammons. For whatever reason, it seems like he's always had a soft spot for the Cubs. He's thought we were going to do something huge for many of the past 5-6 years.
  11. I don't really blame him. A couple days ago I was reading an article about him where he basically stated that he's a fan like anyone else, except he's got the camera on him. He's not going to sit there emotionless -- he lives and dies with the team. I respect him for that. I wouldn't want someone talking to me after say, game 7 of the '03 NLCS.
  12. I'm assuming that's after he doubled... I loved the "SAMMY! SAMMY!" chant!
  13. HAHAHAH the look on its face is always like that but its just hillarious
  14. Eco-what? The whole environment thing has it's own thread dude. LMAO that'd be such a tree-hugger response to what "economics" is
  15. LOL, the league is so weird with the awards and all-star invites. How can you have a team that is as good as the Bulls on D and nobody's 1st team all-defense? They've already got major egg on their face for not giving Deng or Gordon the all-star invite. Now this? Pathetic. They could all be "pretty good" vs a team with an all-defensive 1st team selection that has awful defenders save that one individual (like the Lakers?). You could have a great defensive team with no standouts is what I'm saying. Kind of like how the Patriots (a pretty good defensive team) had just one defensive player (a reserve) in the pro bowl. I'm not saying I agree wtih it, but such a scenario could still make sense.
  16. Hahahaha take an economics course
  17. When my dad came to America in the late 60s, he grew to love watching the Reds, especially Concepcion. When he decided to change his name to an American one in the early 70s, he chose David because of him. I'm sure he'll be thrilled, hahaha.
  18. Then you obviously haven't been looking. The US is number one in CO2 emissions both total and per capita of any nation in the world. Not for long. Whatever. We're in a huge position to make a difference here, and blaming other countries is just pathetic. That's not what I was doing. I'm just saying, China and India are not going to sacrifice their economic future for the sake of global warming. We won't be able to lower our air pollution over night. I'm saying by the time we actually end up lowering it, we're really not going to be the problem. Once they get large segments of their populations out of poverty (which will happen in the next 5-10 years) and people start buying cars, we're going to have big problems on our hands if, indeed, air pollution is the main factor in global warming. On top of that, we will probably have cut production by that time as a result of increased regulations (hopefully not) while China and India will have been able to reign free.
