  1. After 4 1/2 it's official if the home team is winning, no matter what. The only way it'd be 'delayed' is if STL took the lead in the top of an inning without us getting an inning to take it back. Ah, okay thanks.
  2. So if the game is called right now, do we get the win, or did they change that rule... i can't remember
  3. Wow. Who's calling balls and strikes today?
  4. He is taking SO MANY STRIKES! C'mon Lee!
  5. Why would he want to distract the Cubs fans from the Cubs whoopin the Cards? Your not making sense. Has going 8-7 in your last 15 games made you delirious? Haha 1908 1908 1908 HEY! It's
  6. Hmm, I'm not so sure about that. Prince Fielder is a good player, but he's pretty out of shape for someone who is supposed to be an athlete. I think we have the right -- no, the obligation -- to make fun of him until he loses some weight. Both for his health, and our personal satisfaction. . cuz i'm sure he frequents this board and will appreciate your hard-love intervention on his obesity. at this point, he's a better hitter than anyone on the Cubs, so I don't begrudge him the extra pounds. it hasn't hurt Cabrera, Ortiz, Mo Vaughn, Cecil Fielder.... :Hoping you read my sarcasm in that post: Of course he's a better hitter than anyone one the Cubs. I'd kill for Prince on my team anyday. And for the record, Cabrera's ZR is way down due in part to his weight gain, Ortiz is a DH, and there's little doubt that Cecil, Vaughn, Tony Gwynn, and yes, Prince would be better overall players if they were actually in shape.
  7. Hmm, I'm not so sure about that. Prince Fielder is a good player, but he's pretty out of shape for someone who is supposed to be an athlete. I think we have the right -- no, the obligation -- to make fun of him until he loses some weight. Both for his health, and our personal satisfaction. Edmonds isn't actually gay (or if he is, it doesn't hinder his athletic ability). Hendry is fat, but he's not supposed to be in shape because he's not an athlete! For further information, I urge everyone to view this video, which shows that Fielder's problem with obesity clearly started at a tender age...
  8. I'll deny it. It's not like that was a pre-ordained 100 game winner. It was highly flawed, as evidenced by the continually weak offense predicated on contact and the ignorance of the value of a walk. Amazing? Please. It was set up to be pretty good. Ok fine. Replace it with, "No one denies that Hendry put together a very good team for the 2004 season, but we didn't do much" Do you mind addressing the main points of my post instead of arguing semantics with me? I was trying to bring up the issue of an underachieving team in evaluating a GM.
  9. Honest questions: Is the top GM rated by his team's record? How do you personally calculate GM worth? Dollars per win? Maybe that works because clearly a guy like Cashman can sign whomever he wants... And how do we take into account the luck factor? No one denies that Hendry put together an amazing team for the 2004 season, but we didn't do much. How are injuries taken into account?
  10. I don't really LIKE him, but I will say that he's done a lot more than people are willing to give him credit for.
  11. http://boards.chicagobears.com/photos/jerans_gallery/default.aspx That is his entire gallery. There is one picture for every Bears game last year and this preseason. I'm not sure where the Cubs one is. LOL at the lions one . . . That's my favorite as well I really like the one with the Bear on top of the Empire State Building. It looks so cinematic.
  12. Wow am I excited! Now lets see Z tear it up sunday night on espn!
  13. Lee isn't sucking per se, but he's taking pitches for strikes he used to absolutlely crush. He's almost being too patient. Last night he took the same pitch three consecutive times and K'd looking. I want the old lee back (or at least some of it back!)
  14. On the bright side, this is the last we'll have to see of Hill for at least the next few days
  15. YES! I just made a strange hissing "yes" in my office... I'm sure people think I'm weird
  16. I'd like WindyCityHoops.com
  17. Only if "True Fans" = Stupid, gullible, hope-filled, Morons. Sure. I hate "true fan" talk. But I'm going to watch every game I get the chance to watch, regardless of the direction the next few weeks take. I think he was using "true fan" as the opposite of "bandwagon fan"
  18. Haha yeah it's going to be fun. One of my best friends transferred from Northeastern (absolutely HATED it) and has been waiting for the day to come. Between them, Nevada, and Duke, I like our pre-conference chances.
  19. I would just like to announce that I'm on Northwestern's official football poster in the upper righthand corner. http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/nw/graphics/wallpaper/nw-football-2007-1280x960.jpg Imagine my surprise when I saw it in Sports Illustrated! In addition, I'm picking the 'Cats to win 8 games. I'll be disappointed if we don't win 7. That is all.
  20. My girlfriend is at the game with her company (she even gets paid to go!). Her department voted to see a Brewers game instead of (GASP) a Cubs game. I made her wear a Cubs shirt, so hopefully that, along with Dave Bush starting, make MIL lose!
