  1. Piscotty 9th and Grichuk 16th out of 311 players. I had to put the minimum PA at 250 since neither of them had enough PA to qualify on the normal list.
  2. We once had like 2-3 straight pages of it until some douche interrupted the streak with actual useful insight.
  3. it's $10? That's nuts. yup compared to what people pay for like netflix, it seems insane Was literally about to say the same thing. It's twice the price of a BP subscription and while the writers sound good, there's no way single guys covering teams can churn out that much useful information single handedly to make it worth it.
  4. Yeah, what made Schwarber so unique in the minors was to have that kind of power and OBP skills while not striking out that much. Next year should be interesting for Bryant. He's always had video game .400 BABIP numbers in the minors because he crushes everything, but he still had a .380 BABIP in the majors last year. I know he will always be a big BABIP guy but .380 was 5th in the league last year and I get a little antsy.
  5. Ok? I guess I purchased an authentic Mark Prior jersey, as well as t-shirt Zambrano and Lee http://s11.postimg.org/b5l0h21df/image.jpg
  6. like Kevin Siegrist? I know, that was the first thing that came to mind. But his numbers against lefties took a nosedive the higher the minor league ladder he climbed, and then he struggled pretty bad in the majors obviously. Like I said though, I think he's got a good enough approach regardless of who is pitching that it won't be a serious issue unless we are maybe talking late game switches. Edit: maybe "nosedive" was too dramatic. .760 OPS against them last year in minors isn't terrible when you are crushing all righties.
  7. Yeah, the defense wasn't great, but it wasn't remotely close to being the albatross that the media makes it out to be after the Mets series fiasco. Surprised me with his arm out there as well. Still played at a 4+ WAR pace over a full season last year. Plus he's still only 22. Kind of weird to think he's younger than Javy. That 17% BB and 20% K-rate during his longest stint at AA still stick out to me. Those power/walk/contact skills have the potential to be immensely valuable if he can continue to make improvements. He does scare me a little against lefties. But if he can just maintain a good approach and have a passable OBP against them, I think that'll suffice.
  8. I agree, but if you're cooperating with Al Jazeera in the first place to help break a story open, why would you recant the info you gave them? It seems odd, and if he is telling the truth then it sounds like he did in fact have info to give but the guy never came back for the whole story which is just sloppy. So who knows. Maybe he got cold feet and denied it, but the guy also apparently wasn't even employed at the clinic in question when the report indicates, and only interned at the place for 3 months in 2013. The guy who interned at the place for 3 months is the guy who recanted the Manning thing (and some other names I think). But the guy who went undercover with Al Jazeera and interviewed the guy above plus other guys hasn't recanted anything (they are different people). Based on the Manning guys recanted excuse I think he just might have tried to sound like a bigshot and heard Peyton went there once.
  9. Ehhh. Not saying everything is 100% accurate, but I read there is actual video of Teagarden openly admitting to what the guy said. "Ha. Tricked you. I just said all of those names to check your integrity and follow up skills!" seems likes a lame excuse you'd come up with after being busted.
  10. Radio? Can't really find anything on Twotter.
  11. Should at least mention Andrew Millers name given the closer rumors.
  12. Rosenthal apparently said on MLBN that the Cubs and Dbacks are out of the Shelby Miller talks.
  13. Lackey's douchiness will probably piss them off now too.
  14. I know I shouldn't, but I still do the selective starting/endpoints thing with Soler and get scared at the thought of dealing him. From 8/1 through the playoffs, he hit .303/.403/.560 in his final 37 games. I know he sucked the majority of the year, but it was still his first full season and I get scared once we trade him he goes full Stanton. (Edit: I see TT pretty much just posted this)
  15. I don't have an opinion on gif or jif (because it should be g-i-f damnit), but when I hear jif, I don't think of the peanut butter I think of "be back in a jiff" or whatever that trash saying is.
  16. Still don't get why people don't just say the letters in GIF like every other 3 letter acronym (USA, GOP, NBA, LED, POW, etc). There's other computer/internet related acronyms that are that way too...*shrug* LOL RAM ROM DOS FAQ GUI pronounced with each letter individually or as a word? because there's definitely differences in how those are handled; "lol' is always said "l-o-l" but ram is just ram. dos can be dos when referring to the operating system, but it's d-o-s when referring to a denial of service attack. gui is pronounced "gooey". faq is f-a-q. gif is pronounced jif unless you learned about the file format because of memes or don't have the awareness to realize that making the noise "gif" with your mouth sounds like an involuntary body function and not a word that is being used to communicate something All of the ones I listed, while not always, are frequently pronounced as words...including lol and faq, as have been discussed earlier in the thread. And Gif should be pronounced with a hard G unless you say the word "gift" as "jift". Some of those you are fine with, but "lol?" I have never heard anyone actually say "lawl." Well, the word exists, but it's usually just written on forums as an extremely sarcastic way to say "lol." A quick look on forums pretty much echo's my sentiments. So if you were reading aloud a text you got from somebody, you would say "lawl" over "l-o-l" and the person you were talking to would know what you mean? Maybe you are right and I'm in the dark on this. But in my head "lawl" sounds like some word from the south and I'm imagining you reading "lawl" out loud in Matthew Mcconaughey's voice with a deep southern drawl. (lol)
  17. I know it wasn't the main point of the thread, but is Austin Jackson really expected to pull 10 mill/year?
  18. Something tells me WSR is the ringleader of the Jared prison footlong "jokes" on Twitter.
  19. Yeah, I could see how you got confused. Like, if I juked some kid on the football field I would instinctually want to say "I eff you cee kay him out" instead of "I faked him out." One could see how that would be a problem.
  20. on a different note, I went about 5 years as a kid where my brain instinctually processed the past tense form of "fake" as "[expletive]."
  21. Pass. The only way I miiiight consider it would be if we saved a decent chunk of change to use for more high quality pitchers but we are taking on yearly salary with Gardner.
