  1. I just looked at Tyrell Jenkins numbers and they are awful. Why is he even being mentioned in those original Castro trade rumors? Bad results and even worse K numbers. Does he secretly throw 102 or something?
  2. That's the first thing I thought too, David. He looked really out of place physically in spring training, much more normal now.
  3. Not that it's indicative of his managing style, but I was looking over some of Ausmus' interviews yesterday and he seems to have the charisma of Dale Sveum. Pretty boring and even seemed a little nervous.
  4. Not that the peripherals are anything special, and obviously SSS, but Soler's up to .302 now.
  5. Last I heard, Law said he wouldn't take Turner in the first round.
  6. Given Kaplan's public infatuation over Ausmus the last two weeks, I find it hard to believe he isn't his own anonymous source. Not that I have a problem with Brad.
  7. must be alot of chicks in canada. or russians.
  8. Is there even a team outside of the Red Sox that does this though? SSS.
  9. BA did a nice piece on Soler. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/can-cubs-jorge-soler-be-the-next-impact-cuban-hitter/
  10. Conflicting twitter reports involving a Chicago team not named the Cubs? Kind of fun. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/popcorn_yes.gif
  11. Mayo: http://minors.mlblogs.com/2013/10/17/an-early-thought-from-the-afl/
  12. Yeah, Turner could definitely be an Ellsbury type. And not that i'd have any problem taking a SS, but I also like the fact that Turner could probably play any position on the diamond outside of 1B and catcher. Law hates him for some reason though.
  13. Well, we're officially going to be 4th or 5th. Should be tied with the Twins assuming they don't come back late. We've got the tiebreaker.
  14. Fat chance, but it looks like we've got one final push in us for the #3. 2.5 out and we own the tie breaker. It's probably more important to hold off the Twins though, who are in extras right now. Could be a big win if they pull it out.
  15. Making the trip to Detroit for my first time Sunday.
  16. Pretty awesome that we scored 31 while throwing an interception at the 1 yard line, going 3 and out at the 2 yard line before halftime (though I couldn't watch it because of Fox), and losing that fumble where we should have at least got a field goal. Though I guess you can't always rely on getting that kind of field position from Hester every game. Was anyone else scared as hell when Long fell on that fumble return TD? Luckily he just slipped, but it looked like he could have torn a hamstring watching it live.
  17. Not necessarily. There are a lot of different development paths. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?P=randy-johnson The Baseball Cube? That still exists? It's useful for quickly comparing/analyzing college statistics of current major / minor leaguers if you're into that sort of thing. Otherwise, the other two work better.
  18. Kris Bryant post season average: .833. Gonna be pissed if that's not sustainable.
  19. CJ dealing. 3 scoreless, 6 K's, 0 BB's, 0 hits.
  20. Right during Bryant's first AB as well.
