  1. That's honestly my preference at this point if the bat is good enough. I'm pretty much all in with the quality bat, quantity pitchers approach (in the draft and in trades) with everything going on with pitching lately. It doesn't help that we are going to be relying on most of these guys as our main pieces as opposed to supplementing main pieces with them. If we end up with a surplus then we can look to trading off some pieces in the future for pitching.
  2. How fun would it be to have him and Bryant batting 3-4 in a lineup?
  3. So BA and Law both have Alex Jackson at 2, with BA also mentioning that the White Sox would like a shot at Jackson too. Maybe one of the 3 does fall. Although with pitchers dropping like flies i'm not so sure I wouldn't just want Jackson since everyone else seems to.
  4. Rivero struck out the side and looked filthy. Definitely something there.
  5. Damn. Brett RT'ed someone saying cramps, that's where I got that. Not sure how much info that person actually had. These are the opposing announcers so they could just be making something up too. The only thing I saw on Twitter mentioned them looking at his calf, so there's still a chance it could be.
  6. I just turned on the Smokies game and the announcer said hamstring strain. Nothing about cramps FWIW.
  7. I really thought Puig was going to regress and make me feel a little better about not getting him. .324/.416/.561.
  8. If that doesn't scream hipster I'm a monkey's uncle. The term Hipster gets thrown around too much -- that picture is an insult to hipsters. That's a straight douche. Show me the hipster douche
  9. My semi-realistic "dream" is that the Dodgers decide they want to be the Dodgers, and we could get Pederson. Love him.
  10. Based on these quotes from earlier in the year, I don't think there's any question we would be one of the most aggressive on him if he becomes available. Theo: Hoyer:
  11. I hope, but it does seem a little fishy that they used a defensive replacement for him last night and now he's out. Hopefully it's nothing. They were up by like 7 and Cutler was also replaces at first at the same time. Could easily be a precautionary/defensive replacement situation. Gotcha, it was still close when I was watching. I forget they score about 5 runs per inning. Bryant's 0-3. He just hit what looked like a lazy popup to center, and it ended up being about a foot short of the wall. The loft, or whatever you want to call it, he gets is pretty crazy.

  14. Henderson seems like the type to ask out a girl over AIM, get rejected, and then reply he has no idea what she is talking about and that his friend has been on his computer for an hour.
  15. Soler double from a few days ago: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lcltx9zgyg4krpi/AACSy4Pan6EaoEASNUP9yTPea#lh:null-SolerBrokenbatalmostHRDouble.mp4 Edit: Another double with traditional view (can't directly link for some reason...it's in there): http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=32783461&sid=t553
  16. I saw his second homer today and he crushed it. I didn't see where it landed and they had a crappy behind the plate view, but he definitely got all of it and I wouldn't have been surprised if it cleared the fence and then some.
  17. It's sad that I have to hope he does poorly otherwise various people are going to go on and on about how he would have been a Cub if Theo didn't wait too long and let Garza get hurt. Was he legitimately on the table? Seems hard to believe given he was only 18 at the time. I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that he was on the table last year as the final piece until the Rangers saw issues with Garza's shoulder and it instead became Olt. I believe ABTY also said Odor and Perez were both parts of the 2012 package that was just about done before Garza got hurt. Olt was always in it, when they didn't like the medicals Odor turned into Grimm.
  18. I might just take Gordon now. Or Jackson if they think he's better, but it sounds like Gordon.
  19. Not that I really consider this serious because it's kind of common sense, but i'll take Mooney's word that Hoffman's not even in the discussion.
  20. The Sox radio guys were ripping Rizzo for pimping his double that the wind kept in. It was very whiny/annoying, although i'm not sure why I was listening to them in the first place.
  21. So apparently this happened. 16 run comeback, no big deal.
