He's obviously never going to be a bodybuilder, but you can tell he put on some solid weight that hasn't affected his speed. He looks alot more "normal athletic" than skinny like I remember. -
So... what was it? Wasn't able to listen today. Anyone? I only heard a brief summary but it was something about there being new progress and that both sides were cautiously optimistic that it could get done by the end of either this week or next (I can't remember which they said).

Marlin Bystro made a random comment on PSD asking if Jason Hammel changes our win variance at all. Might be sarcasm from him or something but i'd wager we probably signed him. -

Agreed, which is why I still listen but take it with a grain of salt. But when people start claiming to David that he factually called this or that (on PSD) when it was far from the case, it at least deserves a brief clarification if it was blatantly wrong. Speaking of the devil..

Soooooo... he was initially right? He was never a PTBNL. Evan Grant (Rangers reporter) said the Cubs had him in the original deal until the Rangers didn't like Garza's medicals at the last moment. When that happened, Odor was replaced by Grimm and they added PTBNL's to help compensate.

That was pretty crazy considering you really came off as sincere and not insulting. But lol at the guy trying to claim Ty called the Garza PTBNL. He had Odor, Ramirez, and Sardinas on the PTBNL list and talked about stipulations that must be met for certain PTBNL's such as the Rangers winning a world series and Garza extension. Then he changed those stipulations a few times (Garza had to make X amount of starts IIRC), and in the end as we know, there were never any to begin with. He also said questions about Olt's medicals were delaying a deal, Bystro jumped in and said it was actually Garza's, and later on we found out that the Rangers pulled Odor from all of their offers because they had questions about something in Garza's medicals. I appreciate him posting because it stirs up great conversation and any rumors are better than none, but I take it with a large grain of salt. And like you said, there is some real "fly on the wall" stuff he posts. You'd think another reporter would catch wind of some of those extremely detailed nuggets at some point if they were readily available in scouting circles... Bystro though is absolute money, although he has posted alot less lately. I'd join his cult.

I had a feeling after the reported Diamondbacks offer and the Cafardo blurb that bidding "could reach 120 million" that the final numbers may be a bit lower than everyone's expecting. But it only takes one. And hopefully it's the Cubs.

Normally i'd assume "soon" just means WGN expiring after 2014, but given the recent smoke i'd lean towards it being something a little more than that. -
I still remember him trying to kill Theo's vibe about a TV deal on that CSN show and Theo essentially laughing at his face.

Yeah, i'm not going to sit here and say I can recall anything Julie's broke off the top of my head, but she's trustworthy. Alot of the main bloggers (Brett) and some of the main writers are in contact with her on Twitter alot. Not the type to make something up imo. 12K followers if you put any stock into it.
