  1. If I have to hear this [expletive] "happy" song one more time i'm going to puke.
  2. http://www.baseballamerica.com/chat/?1398267269 They are live chatting the draft now, plenty more at the link.
  3. Almora's due for a trademark 5/5 game any day now.
  4. Bryant average now up to .317.

  6. The Cubs site really tries to put a positive spin on things. "Cubs break through in tough loss: Valbeuna's knock ends the scoreless stretch" as the summarized title. Breaking through for one whole run.
  7. Then Castillo's going to look pretty dumb when they're asking him the same question in the next room over.
  8. Bryant with a double, walk, and HBP in 2 official AB's. The OBP is strong with this one.
  9. Why does MilbTV keep rejecting my damn debit card?
  10. Zimmer at 7, which is the highest i've seen him.

  12. A couple more 100 mph'ers off the top of my head: Alex Meyer Lance McCullers Pretty sure Jameson Taillon Harvey was probably close. But, there's going to be a difference between some of these guys who "can top out" at 100 every once in awhile vs. a guy like Gray who might sit 97-98 and hit 100 multiple times in a game.
  13. Can't find the full statline but Grant Holmes (#5 on Law's rankings) had 15 K's in his most recent start a few days ago. I've got no reasoning behind it other than the eye test, but Holmes and Beede are the two pitchers I feel the best about in terms of health/durability if we go that route.
  14. To be fair to him, he did this last year too and then came back strong (check out the first 5 pages of this thread). Of course he's a pitcher blah blah blah. But it seems like he started last year off great from a stats perspective. From a stats perspective, he's still currently at a 2.18 ERA and greater than a K per inning for this year. Unearned runs for sure, but many seem to be fairly legitimate unearned runs. NC State had like 4 errors today. I'm confident he'll be like last year and return to full form, but i'm also starting to view the slow starts he has (stuff) wise as a bigger negative than I was before (as opposed to an excuse). That said, he'd still be really high on my list at #4. On another note, Hoffman with another bland start. 7 innings, 3R, 2K, 2BB.
  15. Something something $25 corndog.
  16. I may have misheard but I swore he just said Travis Wood is a fine prospect. Edit: ^confirmed. And his laugh sounds like a stoned Chip Caray.
  17. Kolek's either going to go top 3, or not be worth taking at 4. Probably the first one. I desperately want to like Hoffman, but I just can't yet. Hoping he sways me. Unfortunately he was 1-5 in game one and 1-7 in game two.
  18. TV: Barney 2B Murphy 3B Schierholtz DH Rizzo 1B Sweeney RF Baez SS McDonald LF Whiteside C Szczur CF Bryant here for the game as well (Vegas). I think he's supposed to start tomorrow but they'll probably give him a late AB today i'd guess.
  19. Yeah, He wasn't pitching anything over 88 mph at this time last year, he always starts out ridiculously slow and gains arm strength more and more throughout the season. He'll still be #1 barring injury. A couple 13 K starts midseason and people will be oohing and ahhhing again.
  20. If Grant Holmes is really hitting 100 (and I'm assuming sitting a bit higher than before) then it's going to be pretty hard for me to say he's not a top 5 pick considering his control and really good secondary stuff. Maybe a bit over the top, but his scouting report sounds a hell of a lot like Dylan Bundy's predraft.
  21. Unless someone Manaea's, it seems like right now it's not going to be a huge dropoff from 3 to 4 no matter what. Hopefully someone Gray's as well.
