  1. he's basically broken Corey Patterson but at 2B, however much value you want to ascribe to that
  2. there's been a crazy frenetic pace in that match
  3. like with Brett Jackson, it really baffles me when players are at first good but then get markedly worse in their 2nd go-around at AAA
  4. so...Addi is basically patient Nick Ahmed plus a few hits?
  5. he followed up an 8-win campaign in '10 with a replacement-level season...that's amazing
  6. dumbest rule in soccer
  7. yeah i was just making a cereal joke dudes cmon get with it
  8. yeah i think here they looked at AVG / hitting streak and stopped there, because Zobrist shreds Murphy to pieces in WPA and WAR also Trout probably should've won, but i'm sure that's true just about every month
  9. cameraman on the Bryant HR was basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  10. so apparently i'm nearly a year behind with my mlbtv feed...
  11. he made a sweet ranging backhand stab in shallow CF on a low LD by Crawford to rob a base hit
  12. [expletive] HR, should've been a K #RobotUmps
  13. ok so ultimately tim & gr refused veto so as not to be left without a paddle this league is broken, you can replace me after the season
  14. Castro's 19th/26 among 2B (who've logged 250 inn.) in converting balls within his zone to outs, and he hasn't really made very many plays outside of his zone (Cano's somehow made more than 3x as many) so it adds up to a pretty poor fielder he's been pretty average in terms of errors though so it can be understood if Yankees fans aren't particularly aggrieved at obvious blunders he's been making, it might be more that he has relatively poor reactions due to unfamiliarity with the position
  15. eh, like you alluded to in the article, the Starlin Castro experience (which i still remember more fondly than i probably ought to) kind of taught us that no ground ball should be taken for granted
  16. post-2017 pitching isn't something i particularly worry about; we'll most likely have similarly elite defense throughout with Russell, Almora, Rizzo, Bryant, Heyward? as fixtures and a powerhouse lineup upon adding Contreras (and possibly? the NL DH) so let Jake & John walk and just sign Tanaka/Garcia/Cobb/Darvish/Chatwood/Tillman/Pineda/Eovaldi/Duffy/Lynn/Buchholz/Liriano...there are at least a dozen guys that are perfectly fine options like Lester, Lackey and Hammel currently are and the year after has Fernandez/Harvey/Keuchel/Richards/Kershaw?/Price? plus, fwiw
  17. it's like the Matt Kemp trade where the names sound ok but it's complete highway robbery in all actuality
  18. i'd guess that xOBA might consider Bogaerts to be middle of the pack for their lineup in terms of hitting quality so far; he's floating on an otherworldly BABIP right now Ortiz & Bradley have for sure been better, and probably a case to be made for Mookie & Shaw, and maybe Pedroia
  19. ...or they could just promote the MLB-ready in-house option fresh off a .324/.419/.657 May; could go either way, really
  20. galaxy tab
