  1. Almora looked like Braun with that swing
  2. not often the bat goes flying like that, on a batted ball
  3. good Javy's ('15-'16) men on base / RISP splits are pronounced; pitchers can get him out with the greatest of ease when they concentrate on their sequencing he's still our #1 trade chip i feel like
  4. BP's Bret Sayre says this of a current Cubs prospect: "Might be the best hitter in the minors right now"
  5. interesting to consider that Law's #5 is 41st for BA and Longenhagen's 3rd-best pitching prospect doesn't crack top-100 here
  6. rest-of-season, i still say over on .750 OPS o/u
  7. we've gotten enough looks at him now and know probably the most about his true talent that i'm not particularly concerned about something like this; the question was brought up a little while back but is instructive, how many players on that list would you trade Contreras for? add 1 to that & that's his ranking Oh, I was only saying that for fun and not for any practical reasons. I just wanted the chance to add another top 25 prospect to Epstein/Hoyer/McLeod's credit. Keith Law had him 18th in his midseason update so we can award WC that distinction he also had Torres top-15 and we can reasonably assume Happ will gain top 25 status in due time (BA midseason?), so hitter development is going pretty well i'd say

  9. wait is that Lucas Harrell? oh this gonna be good...
  10. eh i'm not really worried, even a little bit
  11. bugs me that people think this pen resembles the Spring atrocity in any way gone are Hoover, Catham; Diaz is buried and the guys we've seen this series are all fairly good
  12. seems we really get disproportionally victimized by players with children's names Scooter, Billy, Tucker, ...
  13. not really giving this a serious reply but it's nice to know he can be Alfredo Simon and we'll still (simply cut him &) win that trade by shedding the 10m+ AAV that was due to near-rep level player
  14. we thought he was the Albino Villain but he was really the Albino Hero
  15. needs to work on his celebration game though
  16. if the Reds have 5 pitchers better than Raisel Iglesias, they'll definitely win the World Series
  17. .333/.416/.525 combined split since start of '15 (211 professional G) remember how most of the NL all-star team this year is going to be Cubs, and it's not really even a sham? we just added another bona fide all-star at maybe the hardest position to fill
