  1. that might as well be $1000 with such long odds
  2. The best part is that he has a father and a brother that are also both named Rougned Odor. Jurickson Profar has a cousin who just signed with the Tribe Makesiondon Kelkboom-Profar
  3. he realized that he was the one propping up the team and now he doesn't want to play with losers
  4. i guess it just depends, would you rather have a player averaging 9.6 WAR/162g, owed 5/129 after this season, or 7.9 WAR/162g, owed 5/35?? after this season
  5. yeah that's all it is, no new transactions for me
  6. maybe they mean that he's cleaning out the latrines
  7. [tweet]https://twitter.com/ESPNNYYankees/status/753605671698956290[/tweet]
  8. Russell came in #31 on the fangraphs trade value thing the juicier bit was he's projected at 4 WAR for the next 4-5 years
  9. .608 OPS, 22.4% K vs LH .758 OPS, 18.4% K vs RH
  10. mojo Group A: Mike Trout Group B: Stanton, Rizzo Group C: Schwarber, Correa, Miguel Cabrera Group D: Heyward, Addison Russell, Puig, Starlin Castro, Carlos Gomez WC: Corey Seager Drop Kyle Schwarber Add Chris Carter Drop Heyward Add Altuve abohnhoff A: Arenado B: Stanton, Goldschmidt C: Correa, Schwarber, McCutchen D: Russell, Puig, Carlos Gomez, VMartinez, Gordon WC: Hunter Pence Drop Schwarber Add Miggy Cabrera Drop WC add Ozuna

  12. Hendricks i have no idea about because you have a guy top-25 in pitcher WAR in the span since he's entered the league, 26, injury-free, effectively free for 4.5? years and better in just about every measure of performance than Sonny Gray, who's assumed to be an elite trade chip...but there's always going to be doubt for whatever reason 1.5-years of Shark basically returned Russell and .5 years of Price & Cueto returned fairly sizable bounties, i have little doubt that if his medicals checked out (and he were made available), contenders would be in a bidding war for Jake
  13. i'm of course lower on Baez, but it's also that SS is becoming talent-rich league-wide where you can't see much more than 3 or 4 or teams where he'd present an organizational upgrade, and also his value drops a bit if you're forcing a move and you don't seem to hear him mentioned in any of the trade talks where other teams are setting a high line and he's the one they're after...possibly they conclude that he's more likely a losing player as he's shown to this point
  14. and FG doesn't span majors+minors, only an either/or
  15. i'm too addicted to their arbitrary endpoints selector, which FG does have but not as cool/easy
  16. "They ask me what I'd like written about me when I'm gone. I hope they write I made Penn State a better place, not just that I was a good football coach" FAIL
  17. i get a tiny little bit mad every time i load his bb-ref & it shows "sparkles" for nickname horsefeathering brett
  18. this is my best estimation as to what league-wide poll might show; we've seen GMs prioritize star potential over high-floor solid projections so i dinged AA, Baez, Hendricks some Bryant Rizzo ---- Russell ---- Arrieta Contreras Schwarber ---- Rondon Hendrix? ---- Soler Eloy Almora Javy Happ Torres ---- Edwards Jr Cease Vogelbach Zagunis Candelario
  19. Bryant: no-doubt #1 Rizzo: top-5 Russell: top-25 Contreras: top-50 probably nobody else makes it
  20. park adjusted, that's about 115 wRC+, more in line with .800 OPS in Cubs hitting environment fwiw
  21. Smyly's 12th in MLB for K-BB%; figure out how to reduce HR-charity (ditch cutter?) and you've got a stew
  22. context-wise, he's been kind of lousy http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=3&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=17&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&page=1_50 I don't believe net WPA includes either a position adjustment or any accounting of defensive value. true, but it better accounts for him [expletive] his pants whenever faced with any kind of runners-on-base situation his defensive value isn't really anything to sing praises for though
  23. context-wise, he's been kind of lousy http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=3&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=17&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&page=1_50
  24. sell "high" baby
  25. whose nuts did he kick now...
