I wasn't aware you had connections in the Twins front office who openly tell you how much they like players on other teams. Pie sucks. Ellsbury doesn't. it's not rocket science Your opinion. Twins scouts might disagree. But if you have weekly tea parties with them, I guess it's really not worth arguing. Not true. Twin scouts thought Ben Revere was a first round talent. (no pun intended) Signability. What they've done over there has worked pretty well for them the past decade. You said Theriot = Derosa. That nullifies every evaluation you make henceforth?

I don't think they'll get it put together in time to make the playoffs. Their defensemen are prone to turnovers, they play with so little physicality, and they pass the puck around on PPs waiting for the perfect shot instead of putting it on net and making something happen. Henrik's kept the ship afloat, but that can't last forever. Keeping Nylander seemed like the right thing to do, but given that he's already out for the year you can't really criticize Sather for it.

It's nice to see a team put up a little fight against the Wings for once. Bertuzzi body slamming Franzen, Pronger rearranging Cleary's face, 4 Ducks sitting in the penalty box together 5 minutes into the game, it's been a fun game. Charleston Chiefs is an apt comparison for today's game. You know your offense is in dire straits if 2 goals does you in. Can the Sedins be cloned?

From what I remember, Pitkanen was a malcontent, which facilitated his departure. I think Coburn left a bad taste in fans mouths given that he was selected the pick before Dion Phaneuf and had struggles adjusting to the NHL game. With Ferguson getting fired, hopefully for their sake the Leafs blow that team up. A firesale would be wise, they really have little to build around. I wonder if the Flyers want Blake instead of Sundin, he could sit in the locker room next to Downie, and they could be good pals...

Right now they have the most offensive firepower of any team in the league. They're right at the top of goals/game and that's with missing Gagne and Lupul for long stretches. Add to that Scottie Upshall looks like he's starting to figure things out, I see them taking their division and probably the two spot in the East. How do you feel about the Carter for Sundin rumors?

They'll pay him less than he'd make in arbitration, and much less than he'd make in Free Agency. $8m for likely 900+ OPS for a guy you didn't even bring up through your system or trade talent for = steal. -

Wow, that's an absolute steal. Amazing that a guy coming off a 46/121 season will make $1m more per year than Marquis. I'm surprised Boras acquiesced to such a small figure. -
