  1. i was promised Barry Larkin
  2. i definitely think some of the blame falls on Joe's unhelpful message this year http://i.imgur.com/jKeFExm.jpg
  3. he hits the ball hard foul sometimes
  4. oh hey that's Dexter's kill shirt
  5. a little surprised they didn't put the speedy, no-doubt-superior-fielding Happ in CF and Almora at the corner
  6. Why the horsefeathers do I keep seeing this as a story? I saw the video where Gammons said it and I know he didn't really say it like it was a joke, but its freaking obvious that the Cubs were really not going to have Trump "fire" Miggy. Even the most tone deaf front offices would know that this wasn't a good idea, much less a sharp and tactful one like the Cubs think he's just annoyed by the clickbait headline that says something like "The Cubs considered having Trump tell Montero, 'You're fired!'" instead of just saying they joked about it or whatever but yeah you'd have to be an idiot to think they really considered that but there are lots of idiots, which is why clickbait works i love the clickbait ads that are like "You'll never believe what happened in !" brett like, only communicates in buzzfeed/clickbait language "David Ross to Appear on DWTS and MY HEART IS DOING A HAPPY DANCE" OMG You Guys This is Not a Test This is Real Squee!!
  7. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=17919&position=2B/OF 11 OOZ plays in CF for him seems like fraudulent recording fun fact: DRS deems Denard Span a MINUS-15 so far in CF ...UZR/150 has him +5
  8. Right now the waves are just washing up dirty diapers around everyone's ankles. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=17919&position=2B/OF 11 OOZ plays in CF for him seems like fraudulent recording
  9. this is a fun dream but the FO just decreed terrible defense in large part outweighs even a 112 wRC+ for a C
  10. i believe it; we've been angrier than usual at the umps so much of this is pitcher-influenced it seems too, catching guys with poor command like Jake, Butler, and maybe Monty (also, losing Hendricks) puts you behind the 8-ball for setting a good frame
  11. life comes at you really fast
  12. from Longenhagen [5/9]: A passable receiver with average raw arm strength, Caratini’s defensive shortcomings lie with his ball blocking and immobility. But he’s an excellent hitter from both sides of the plate (but especially from the right side) and projects for an above average bat without the game power to profile at first base. Scouts consider Caratini a species of player more commonly found in the American League, one who can DH, play some first base and occasionally put on his catcher’s gear. He could make for an interesting trade chip in July.
  13. 1/3 of the runs he allowed were unearned

  15. "oh, uh yeah, that's why i served up that dong to Schwarber that got lost somewhere in the atmosphere"

  17. was he an old school overslot or just a great diamond in the rough find? didn't theo & co. rate him much more highly than other teams because he aced the neuroscouting tests that they were just beginning to implement at the time? yeah i just found it https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/02/18/neuroscouting-may-give-red-sox-heads-prospects-potential/EFBHR3zNdThk1NboRpNMHL/story.html
  18. was he an old school overslot or just a great diamond in the rough find? there were articles indicating he was some kind of neuroscience scouting experiment, and one quote from when he was in the minors something like "if this guy pans out, you'll know there's something here"
  19. all i'm asking for is that they draft the next Mookie Betts today
  20. can't help but think of Verducci's piece on curves https://www.si.com/mlb/2017/05/23/curveball-clayton-kershaw-lance-mccullers
