  1. he's the #29 QB on PFF
  2. the wild card only changing once, midseason usually seems to inordinately torpedo the season for a lot of teams it's more pronounced if you have an injury or unexpected playing time split that you can't recover from
  3. i thought it was Jimmy Butler
  4. Absolutely. So many free agents want to come here now because of the culture he's built. The camaraderie and how close the players are in this clubhouse is special. I'm glad Jesse Chavez feels that way. which is cool, but if the flip side to the coin is cavalier, laissez faire attitude to hitting, preparation that causes a budding dynasty to fall apart because everybody on the team stagnates/regresses, then what does it really matter
  5. the hitting philosophy set about from Maddon mustered 1 XBH in 22 innings of do or die play unless we think that Chili is 100% to blame, our core nucleus is kind of irreparably damaged by continually keeping Maddon around
  6. seems pretty telling
  7. Joe, basically
  8. something i've always been too dumb to understand is why stiffarm like that is allowable when illegal hands to the face is a penalty
  9. Taylor Gabriel has 89 receiving yards on 22 targets, how is that even possible
  10. another PF on a garden variety sack and Mike McCarthy's about to suffer an aneurysm over it
  11. Kansas City's offense cannot be stopped
  12. i don't see why they couldn't have had a brief conversation with the friend/'nanny' and i'd expect it'd quickly materialize if she was on the level or vague/vindictive-sounding; she was (courageously) throwing bombs on social media, i don't see why she wouldn't have been willingly forthright with team brass in a fact-finding pursuit at that point
  13. ..they don't? this was a big story last spring, they looked into it & assuredly learned much of, if not all of what Melisa just shared and decided to stay the course with him; they've already failed the test It was a big story in a relatively small circle of the world based on a 3rd party social media post that was deleted(?). And she apparently didn't participate in the proceedings. They couldn't have learned much, and probably preferred it that way. This is different. if they 'preferred it that way' to not know about his abuse, then they already failed the test
  14. This. Ricketts, Theo, and Jed don't seem like the kind of guys who will sit on their hands and let this one play out. He needs to be gone until this is investigated and let the dust settle where it may. ..they don't? this was a big story last spring, they looked into it & assuredly learned much of, if not all of what Melisa just shared and decided to stay the course with him; they've already failed the test
  15. Looking like a dweeb: Yelich
  16. I'm not great at math, but is it even possible for a swing in batting average that great at this point in the season? Let's assume Javy plays 10 of the remaining 11 games, and gets an average of 4 PA per game, so 40 PA. Given his 5% walk rate, let's say 38 AB. To raise his BA to .315, he'd need to go 23 for 38. To raise it to .320, he'd need to go 28 for 38.
  17. Seattle had 5+ years as an elite unit with Sherman/Thomas/Chancellor/Wagner and that's nearly the quality you're lining up with Mack/Smith/Amos/Floyd/Hicks/Goldman/Fuller also, PFF fwiw:
  18. i will absolutely take the over on that defense being elite for just 2 years
  19. This. A horsefeathers coaching staff last year plus people are drooling over Mahomes. Give it 8 games at least, especially with a new coaching staff. This team is a 10-6 team. 8 games at least? This isn't baseball. By week 8 your fate can be decided. This team can't afford a guy who can't make throws. the Bears might have the 2nd? best defense in the league; they of anybody actually can basically afford it
  20. we do?
  21. pretty sweet play design/execution on that one
  22. bat literally anybody there that can manage a flyball or dribbler or bunt or any one of a hundred other positive results to drive in the run and it becomes a super easy save situation anyway
  23. Matt Patricia having a real Gob Bluth moment tonight
