  1. abysmal inning stretch for La Stella; his goofy awkwardness on Baez throw main culprit for E, and dumb baserunning cost another run
  2. um did you not read any of the previous 317 posts in this thread
  3. Yeah, but you have him under team control for a whopping one and a half years. let's take a trip down memory lane http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2015/3/26/8286197/kris-bryant-for-matt-harvey-trade-cubs-mets
  4. going to Mile High and seeing some dudes named Senzatela, Freeland, Marquez should be the cure for what ails this offense
  5. http://vmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/clueless-hair-changes.gif
  6. stats even agree he's a construction barrel out there; -8 DRS / -2 UZR in career 480 IP, made just 17/22 plays within his zone this year (worst rate among qualifiers) and only tracked down 7 out of zone (tied for 2nd-fewest)...i realize it's way too early to make sweeping conclusions from D stats and these are filled with noise, but anybody honestly assessing him is going to be rightfully skeptical of his defensive abilities the whole 2 innings he's served behind the plate are obviously of little import beyond fantasy eligibility then who is?
  7. for the last year (486 PA) he's got 10 unintentional walks vs. 120 K, and still fails to reach .750 OPS despite huge babip/plus speed still hard to be excited for him going forward but who knows
  8. Yeah, I think I can live with a poor man's Adam Dunn/rich man's Mark Reynolds as our 4th-6th best hitter for years to come. he's probably the worst fielding LF in baseball, so if he's our 4th-6th best hitter he's pretty useless i think he's more likely to become our best hitter than 4th-best though
  9. never gonna happen; one could even call that a stroman fallacy Why so? Just because you don't think we'd pay the cost? Their competitive window seems to be shut, they have a roster of aging/expensive players and trading Stroman could be a jumpstart to a reboot. i just wanted to make a bad joke but i think conversations start with Schwarber there, and this FO wouldn't relinquish him for pitching imo
  10. never gonna happen; one could even call that a stroman fallacy
  11. oh you could say that Iowa is looking pretty Happless today :D
  12. i wanted to hold that against him but in the minors last year he had a reverse split this is amusing to see (last cal. year) http://i.imgur.com/2Gwl4eh.png
  13. Gareon Conley accused of rape, Matt Miller said he'd be surprised if he's drafted now
  14. Eh, I love Willson but if we have him through his age 30 season I'd be fine riding it out year by year. Knowing there's a 0 chance on Bryant to extend the only guy I'd really like to see an extension for is Russell. Everyone else I'm fine with letting it ride for various reasons. Addy is gonna be just as difficult to extend as KB for the same reason maybe not, if we can sweeten the pot with a Charizard Holofoil...
  15. yeah i was a little surprised by that DRS is an interesting story, too; he's a putrid 13/16 on "balls in zone" but has made 8 catches "out of zone" in just 74 innings which is an elite rate on par with Kiermaier, Cain, Enciarte who lead MLB for the position these are based on like, one, positive event; those mean next to nothing
  16. just as a C, Contreras is .290/.359/.517...2.6 fWAR career in 62 G, 231 PA so, um Willson Contreras: Somehow Buster Posey?
  17. "Evolves from Oakland" lmao
  18. *looks for Javy's place in the lineup* just right
  19. everyone in baseball who sucks this year gonna try the low Rizzo hands
  20. mods, rename: Talkin Bout Hey Love
  21. our 23yo SS is sitting at .293/.346/.467 with 7% BB, 16% K and leads the position in DRS 16th in NL fWAR, right ahead of Bryzzo as of this writing
  22. read this one as There's no trying in baseball! and wondered why we had an Aramis Ramirez thread
  23. *looks for Javy's place in the lineup* still too high
