  1. how is Orton in a good situation? no running game to speak of, and a stable of receivers comprised entirely of castoffs and misfits who's the best receiving threat on that team?
  2. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81ad9916/Lloyd-48-yard-TD
  3. this is an absolute must-win
  4. take the points
  5. cutler will be back next week.
  6. wow, Jags pulled it off
  7. all this talk comparing those two Lions games is absurd just look at the comfort level Linehan had with Hill today compared to the hideous uber-conservative offense he was calling in the Bears game, i don't think you can compare the two at all
  8. yeah, Slaton fumbled too much for Kubiak to stand supposedly Foster had an issue with tardiness to bring about his benching today
  9. Arian Foster just now entered the game a few minutes before the half pretty strange since he was just named AFC player of the month
  10. oh, and i couldn't believe how well the OL did in pass blocking, but that goes hand in hand with how well Hill played too
  11. Hill had one of the best QB performances i've ever seen from a Lion, and Linehan had a terrific game in play-calling just have to learn how to win now
  12. they'll for sure win 4 games we've played 4 teams who'll all probably be better than .500, so it'll be nice when the schedule eases up a little bit
  13. It's humanly possible. Teams go from crap to decent in one year all the time. I don't deny the Lions had further to go but they're still really bad. Going from historically terrible to merely awful isn't all that impressive. If this season keeps going in the tank do you think Schwartz has to worry about his job? then you don't realize how far they had to go 53 spots to fill on a roster, go ahead and try to think of anybody useful left over from the Millen regime I LOVE CALVIN
  14. The problem is, the Lions have been perpetually rebuilding forever. Most times a new organization will yield at least some fairly immediate observable change, even without complete roster overhauls. The jury's still out, for sure. But right now it looks very similar to the same old, poor discipline, shoot yourself, kill your own momentum, Lions. you're never "rebuilding" when you have the worst executive in the history of sports at the helm, let's make that clear there has been fairly immediate observable change, as the team isn't getting blown out every week, from the get-go, and has obvious talented players in many of the spots on the field, for a change
  15. anybody who ever thought it'd be humanly possible to build enough depth in two years starting from the completely bare cupboard Millen and Marinelli left over to be able sustain injuries to the franchise QB and several other key contributors was being really, really foolish
  16. how do you figure?
  17. i love Calvin
  18. *besides Mike Martin
  19. oh thank goodness.
  20. how it is possible somebody can get so wide open on 3rd-16??
  21. they've got what looks to be one of the best offenses in the country, so barely sneaking in the top-25 isn't the egregious misjudgment you're acting like it is edit: (what ej said)
  22. i'm not feeling really great about our pass defense.
  23. i don't think he was actually that well-regarded, mlb.com didn't even have a write-up for him in the draft tracker that was a really rich draft, and we'll come out with Darwin Barney/James Russell and Marquez Smith or maybe Guyer as the most relevant contributors at the MLB level, which is disappointing for Stanton, one of the fangraphs guys in a chat predicted he'll hit 50 HR in his prime and cited his off-the-charts strength. it's a weird disconnect seeing his stance and swing, which are so reminiscent of Garrett Atkins, being so powerful
  24. i don't see any reason why Philly would fall very far they should have tried harder to upgrade their goaltending situation (Antti Niemi), but the rest of that team is awesome
