  1. thanks for not completely blowing that one, Michigan
  2. kinda bush, but i probably wouldn't object if Cooke got that treatment
  3. i really don't think he'll fall past 13
  4. prospects don't mean much to me when they're traded for young studs Liriano's just 27, (our) Chris Carpenter, for example, is just two years younger, and Casher just three
  5. damn, i really wonder how much we would have had to add to the Garza package to instead make Liriano a Cub i'd have thrown Vitters on top of it all and it would have been well worth it
  6. that's a tremendous understatement, this deal makes no sense for the Panthers, whatsoever and getting Salak too, what a total steal
  7. i've heard people complain about that and point to it as an example of his bad footwork, as if backpedaling is much different than grapevining or whatever. that said, he obviously gets into position before throwing and he's been hit pretty hard from the blind side since joining the bears. his footwork probably gives him a huge advantage in avoiding the rush, here's a good point made about it:
  8. honestly, Cutler is pretty unique in that he keeps his shoulders parallel to the LOS, i don't think there's a big difference of importance for either T position in respect to pass protection for the Bears
  9. i never heard so much as a peep about it dew, i'd be surprised if it was at all considered
  10. well i never went so far as to make any guarantees, nor would i, let's just say if i could trade rosters and front office with any other franchise right now, it'd be the Packers* *though i do (finally) like the direction the Lions are headed
  11. to be clear, i specifically said Bishop, et al. "were amongst the very best players at their respective positions this year" there's really no way of knowing how most players will perform year to year, so it's mostly futile to prognosticate about it (who really expected Forte's huge rebound, or Pace's breakdown?) also, fwiw, that Pro Bowl article was updated throughout the season and Bishop was a fixture on the list most of the year
  12. Me either, but after the year he had running behind that line, he has to be top 10 easily. I suppose if you consider his receiving abilities out of the backfield you could make a case for top 5. he was ranked their 6th-best RB for the season http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/01/21/undercover-mvps-matt-forte/ i'd like to hear specifically what of that write-up you disagree with, minny He said he's not a top 3 back. Your link says he's ranked 6th. What exactly is the point you're trying to make? i was clarifying Minny's mix-up, their specifics actually line up well with my perceptions of Forte (middle of the road runner, great in pass pro, catching)
  13. Me either, but after the year he had running behind that line, he has to be top 10 easily. I suppose if you consider his receiving abilities out of the backfield you could make a case for top 5. he was ranked their 6th-best RB for the season http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/01/21/undercover-mvps-matt-forte/ i'd like to hear specifically what of that write-up you disagree with, minny
  14. But he watches the games. His eyes wouldn't deceive him, would they? funny, that was sneakys exact reasoning behind his link. not really, they break down every single play and assess grades to each individual player for every snap, which is quite a bit different than just eyeballing it, i'd have to say
  15. well, you've certainly swayed me.
  16. the explanations aren't really the crux of the point, they've done constant rankings throughout the entire season and that was just a brief summary of why he ranked 2nd best for their NFC ILB rankings
  17. i'm having a completely impossible time trying to follow your bizarre narrative at this point. the Packers got lucky because they lost no irreplaceable players, because their backups were so good? i'll defer to guys who've watched every snap of every game on this one: http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/01/26/nfc-pro-bowl-who-you-should-have-been-watching-or-not-watching-in-hawaii/
  18. the 3-4 uses more than 1 ILB...
  19. They would be the same as any other team that loses an elite quarterback. I'm not sure what that's supposed to prove. ok, clay matthews then. they lost luxury-type players. sure, if they had lost Matthews on top of starters like Barnett, Grant, Finley, Jones, Burnett, Tauscher, they might not have had the 2nd-best point differential in all of football point taken.
  20. its mostly Rodgers, though. free agency and big contracts else where will eventually deplete the team of talent. That reality puts a lot of pressure on their drafting abilities. And despite the unusual number of injuries this year, they aren't guaranteed any more health next year. What happens if they remain completely healthy next year except for Rodgers who blows out a knee in the 3rd game? Is Matt Flynn capable of carrying them through the playoffs? They lose 2 of the 3 playoff games they had with out Rodgers. the league turns over so quickly anymore, I'm not buying the dynasty just yet. Sitton, Matthews, T.Williams, Bishop, Wells were amongst the very best players at their respective positions this year, and guys like Raji, Jennings, Finley, Collins, Johnson, Shields, Masthay, Bulaga have obvious potential to be right there too the Packers are probably in better shape backup QB-wise than most other teams, frankly
  21. it's more than just Rodgers, they've got stars all over the field on both sides of the ball. and Woodson aside, they're all really young.
  22. oh my, what a clever lampooning of delusional Packers fans, you're really showing them!
  23. 1) Big Ben deserves some heat for his poor performance. the two picks were his fault, and he missed a host of pretty wide-open throws 2) the Chrysler ad was the best commercial
  24. so, Jarius Wynn had a pretty good day
