  1. great to see Szczur with a big game too: 3-4, 2B, BB, K
  2. catchers BABIP is usually ~.095 above their LD rate
  3. it seems like the majority of expert mocks have us taking Amukamara, which is just setting me up for terrible disappointment is this the agreed upon most likely top-12 right now? 1 Car - Newton 2 Den - Dareus 3 Buf - Miller (alt: Gabbert) 4 Cin - Green 5 Ari - Peterson (Miller) 6 Cle - Quinn 7 SF - Gabbert (Peterson) 8 Ten - Fairley 9 Dal - T.Smith 10 Was - J.Jones 11 Ten - A.Smith 12 Min - C.Jordan
  4. He'll get one tomorrow. Has Quade batted Aramis #3 at all this year? No, and he's not going to. He said Aramis at #4 is the only spot in the batting order that is set in stone. What a jerk. what's wrong with that?
  5. definitely glad to see Byrd get moved down in the order, though HR Baker isn't really the most ideal replacement well, with that lineup i guess he is
  6. watching the Yankees-White Sox game, and now Sutcliffe is trying to make me hate Barney "i talked with Ryne Sandberg, who coached Barney in AAA, and he said 'he reminds me of Craig Counsell and David Eckstein; he's a guy who helps you win'"
  7. Barney just HRed? next year let's just send everybody on the team to Camp Colvin
  8. i shudder to think how much worse Aaron Harang would terrify small children then
  9. 75. Detroit Lions - Davon House, CB, New Mexico State House presents a good value here and CB is a definite area of need for us, even more so if we can't re-sign Chris Houston, who's decent but sorely lacks ball skills looking back, Carter seems like a fair reach at 44, and were it at all possible, i'd love for us to trade down from that pick for a couple of mid-rounders and go something like Mason Foster & Moffit instead; seems to be good LB depth in this draft
  10. what on Earth was the big rush to lock him up for '16 and beyond?
  11. this was actually Seattle's starting lineup today. maybe it's about time they start listening to offers on Felix... I. Suzuki rf C. Figgins 3b A. Kennedy 1b J. Cust dh M. Saunders cf L. Rodriguez ss C. Peguero lf J. Wilson 2b C. Gimenez c
  12. Castro 0-5 Grabow with the hold Marmol the blown save Shark with 2 scoreless innings and the win Reed with the walkoff HR our formula for sustained success!
  13. i love the guy, but Castro's basically made two errors this inning, it should have been over awhile ago
  14. the IF single earlier by Moseley hit him in the hip and he seemed to pull a muscle in his leg when trying to make the play, enough so that he had to throw a few practice pitches after that
  15. good point, those guys bring his grade up to, like a D+
  16. i guess Fuld, or Reed Johnson rather, is just a red herring in this discussion, when my greater point is that i absolutely abhor the way Hendry treats the bench as some lost cause, clubhouse presence placeholder spot on the roster miles, neifi, koyie hill, enrique wilson, two stints of tony womack, jose macias, bako, o'leary, goodwin, ramon martinez, rey ordonez, monroe, or a dozen other retreads to whom he's inexplicably loyal. i'll concede Ward and Edmonds were perhaps the two exceptions, but the point well remains it's putting it lightly to say he's obviously not much of a dreamer
  17. you know what i mean. his inclusion obviously had no bearing on that deal going through, whatsoever i'm willing to bet it was something along the lines of "hey, you gonna use that Sam Fuld?" "eh, probably not, here you go..."
  18. i'm glad he's getting an opportunity, but it's bothersome that we end up gifting bench spots every year to corpses like Reed Johnson, when Sam Fuld, who serves about six roles on the bench much better, gets discarded to the scrap heap
  19. on pace for 303, which would beat the old record by 41.
  20. his dad was a 3B for the expos, if memory serves
  21. historically Hendry has refused to "sell" until it's crystal clear we won't have a chance in hell of competing, which shouldn't (i hope) be the case by July 31st i'd bet against Byrd being traded before the offseason
  22. it's pretty weird and front-runner-y to only have interest in watching baseball if we're serious contenders i watched the [expletive] out of all the Cubs teams throughout the '90s that all sucked a dick ('98 season excepted, of course)
  23. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2011/4/8/2098854/the-cubs-have-a-starlin-castro damn right.
