  1. easy there jaydee
  2. i'll never, ever understand how that guy was considered the superior prospect to Starlin
  3. http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/252596_1769102148481_1267020070_31477006_6106224_n.jpg
  4. just a few bonus babies that may interest you
  5. More excellent amateur talent assessment by the Cubs' top notch scouting department. going out of your way to crap on an 8th round pick is a really weird thing to do
  6. The replay was hilarious. Wade lying on the floor, grabbing his eye only after the shot missed, and pathetically looking towards the officials. it makes it really hard to rag on other countries with soccer when [expletive] like that is so unbelievably rampant in nba games
  7. ugh, wade laying on the ground there basketball needs to make flopping a technical foul so damn bad
  8. he sure showed you, rocket, the dusty apologist you are!
  9. chris davis i'm too worried about what might happen to somebody in 2017 to commit
  10. Jonah Keri wrote a good piece on the new mold of LF like Fuld, Brantley, Gardner we're seeing a lot more of lately, echoing the same benefits you mentioned that said, we still have a glaring need for a power bat or two, which hopefully gets resolved in a big way this offseason via a FA 1B
  11. 76 HR (.278/.399/.664) in his last 200 games, a 62 HR pace
  12. what a total butt
  13. probably backloaded with a NTC
  14. Al Albuquerque has been pretty Wuertz-y so far watching him, seems like he throws his slider every single pitch (fangraphs lists its usage 65.5% of the time, compared to 34.5% for his 94.6 MPH fastball). coming into today, he's struck out 22 in 12-1/3 IP in other news, Rich Hill's quietly pitched 3-2/3 scoreless innings for Boston since being called up last Thursday

  16. wowowow, that game
  17. think of the children! oh, nevermind that, actually
  18. Most of the guys they have we could have had if we were willing to spend big on the draft. Hopefully Ricketts will be willing to do so. take nothing away from the royals - they've done great to go well above slot to grab talents like myers, crow, dwyer, hosmer, etc, but they've also had the advantage of being consistently lousy and drafting at the front of each round. players like hosmer, moustakas and crow were not available when we were drafting. plus even their slot picks have had an above-average number of hits lately. they're doing the draft right... cubs are not. When you have a top 5 pick pretty much every year, your bound to put a team together eventually. See Rays, Tampa Bay. they've had Upton, Longoria and Price as top picks contributing ok, now explain away everybody else
  19. Luis Gonzalez's career almost perfectly mirrors Bautista's done so far 9 seasons with a .268/.341/.432 (.774) line, then he goes to Arizona and the next 3 seasons with a .324/.408/.593 (1.001) line i don't even remember if he was linked with steroids, but a lot of that team was suspicious, Jay Bell most of all
  20. yeah, Lake, Burke and Vitters were three guys i gave up all hope for last year, and Lake's line so far just has me shoveling more dirt on his coffin
  21. Z's been good but LA's lineup is really bad today as well. that's putting it mildly, this is perhaps the worst lineup i've seen all year throughout baseball; Kemp's the only hitter who's not purely AAA-fodder
  22. a no-hitter doesn't count when you walk Juan [expletive] Pierre three times
