He's a fringe-average defender on the good side of the defensive spectrum. you're simply not being intellectually honest if you believe that to be true
That's crazy, he was a slight overdraft but not that much. Sucks for him, I have no idea what the Marlins are doing. they have to be able to afford the $27M it costs to have Heath Bell put up a 1.82 WHIP
he's always hit lefties well, and he was signed to hit lefties well, and this season so far he's hit lefties well; also, everybody go take a quick gander at DeJesus' splits
Colvin's been the 4th-most productive hitter (min. 180 PA) on a per-pitch basis against fastballs this year last year, he was one of the worst hitters against fastballs (min. 200 PA) so, oddly enough, it's a lot easier to hit fastballs that don't move much at all (in Coors)
in perhaps the most pointless exercise ever... Brett Jackson, with Ronald Torreyes' K-rate: .394/.482/.750 (.375 BABIP) and a full-season pace of 162 R (lol), 54 2B, 30 3B, 36 HR, 106 RBI, 68 BB, 48 K, 54 SB
he goes to the same swing doctor that Ben Zobrist has; i've been intrigued by him for awhile, for no other reason than that Zobrist went from a 33 OPS+ player (SSS, i know) to a 126 OPS+ player after seeing that guy oh, and Trevor Floukke vs. RHP: .759 OPS (.285 OBP) vs. LHP: 1.225 OPS bases empty: .484 wOBA, 16 HR men on base: .242 wOBA, 3 HR he also has hit 18/19 of his HR to LF
even with his epically horrific slump-to-end-all-slumps, he still has the 6th-best OPS in all of baseball vs. righties, but you probably have fingers in your ears at this point, so whatever
