  1. i'm looking to take some points
  2. Joique Bell probably saved a pick-6 there
  3. i'm pretty pleased with how this first half has gone.
  4. i always hate taking the FG there
  5. i don't, but we'd likely need to see something resembling the Winter '12 Pirates offseason formerly great gambles at open positions of need Russell Martin : Curtis Granderson, Nelson Cruz Francisco Liriano: Josh Johnson, Matt Garza?, Scott Kazmir known-quantity potential shutdown RP Grilli: Jesse Crain, Eric O'Flaherty, Casey Janssen, Rafael Betancourt do something like that and you're able to put yourself in the position they were this spring; you'd still be wanting some guys to hit the upper levels of their projections (Burnett=Shark, Melancon=Strop, Marte=Lake)...and a couple reasonable rebounds from core players might ideally approach McCutchen (plus RF black hole) stratosphere
  6. they all make it and have Tony Batista, Pat Burrell, Randy Winn, Juan Encarnacion careers
  7. Schierholtz has a .268 OBP since the break...i don't know why he absolutely has to play every game vs. RHP
  8. i think that's in part because they're penciling in Rodon there too "they are assembling baseball's best farm system." odd choice of words
  9. Mike Carp now plays for the Red Sox
  10. given the FO, i'd figure a more relevant comparison would be Buchholz, Ellsbury, Masterson, Lowrie, Bowden, Bard, Pedroia, Papelbon, Lester but what the hell do i know; it's probably not as fun to make waives & waives jokes in response to that
  11. Meathead or not, I wish we had Carlos Gomez. [expletive] Brian McCann.
  12. he was also startlingly -17 in RF last year, but i thought i remembered him playing hurt? edit: what tim said
  13. http://i.imgur.com/jq9BkDK.gif
  14. allow me to introduce to you the .830 OPS all-star 1B http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/30399.png&w=350&h=254
  15. not personally disagreeing since i've only watched the Steelers game, but that seems to run counter to what PFF's observed (or i might be misunderstanding what constitutes 'efficiency' in those metrics) https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/09/24/32-observations-week-3-2/ https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/09/25/first-rounders-in-focus-week-3/
  16. left to right, it's Ansah-Suh-Fairley-Young; Long will draw Suh, predominately
  17. Bradshaw
  18. sad thing is, Burleson's actually like the brightest guy on the team hopefully we get on the phone with Lombardi, or *gulp* inquire about Kenny Britt
  19. Hanley Ramirez, because holy [expletive] has anyone seen what Hanley Ramirez has done this year? i'd rather not talk about it
  20. a 1000 OPS for Rizzo is like a 7-8 win player you're probably going to be disappointed
  21. i just figured he doesn't have an enter key
  22. saw this on Y! "We're now 311 carries into his NFL career, and the guy only has two runs of over 20 yards." PFF also had a stat that he ran into loaded fronts just 17% of the time with Cleveland
  23. it seems like Julius Peppers would be a beastly goal-line TE like Vrabel used to do
  24. i kind of skimmed through it, but PFF was talking about how he SHREDS the blitz and Seattle knew this and rushed 4 most of their game; i didn't really watch enough of today's game to see if Indy did that too also, they have pretty putrid receivers after Crabtree, Manningham, V Davis (all out today) edit: looking at the box score, Bradshaw with 5 YPC and TRich with just 2.7 YPC (long of 7! on 13 carries)...does TRich actually just suck?
