  1. ages 22-28 (Calvin Johnson's career so far) Jerry Rice averaged 85.5 YPG, and Calvin's averaged 87.4 YPG important to note, 35 games of that were with Shaun Hill/Culpepper/Stanton/Kitna; in games with Stafford at QB, he's averaging 103 YPG, which blows all other (non-Lance Alworth) WRs out of the water
  2. you should; Borges coaches scared on the road and it's going to be predictable and infuriating all at once
  3. well i'll be damned.
  4. Rizzo was top-30 in BB rate; with him as with others, the suppression our OBP most of all was caused by a league-worst BABIP, which you can attribute to whatever you wish they've talked ad nauseum about working the count and controlling the strike zone, and their signings and trades so far have almost always reflect their prioritization of these things you can also imagine giving 1650 PA to current iterations of Soriano, Barney and Castro was never the FO's ideal situation, but one they remain active in attempting to address (trades, instruction for changes in approach)
  5. probably not, our new philosophy is instead to make outs
  6. sad stat: Castillo led the '13 Cubs in OBP (min. 300 PA)
  7. Castillo had a 2nd half where he hit .288/.388/.475, and graded out as one of the best defensive catchers in the game- i really don't envision him being moved, short of an involvement in a Stanton package also, JP Arencibia walks less than Castro and Alexei Ramirez; none of this is very believable to me
  8. i probably do Boykin & James i'm mulling over James & Ivory, currently
  9. take a moment and look at what Andy Dalton just did to the Lions secondary
  10. i started trying to determine exactly how much value Trout has delivered just on speed alone, and i immediately quit upon realizing it was higher than any Cubs position player produced on the whole
  11. is Hicks short for "Hakeem Nicks"? if so, then him, easily
  12. going to hockey games
  13. found a Rotoworld article, from 4/12
  14. drafting a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round seems like such a losing proposition to me; how many of those guys turn out? i mostly can only think of guys with height concerns (Brees, Wilson), otherwise Andy Dalton seems like the upside
  15. as a reliever since coming over to the u.s., his whip is 0.701, his K/BB ratio is 284/26 in 219 innings, and he's got a .165/.192/.301/.493 line against. and he was left off the WS roster for the Rangers in '11 (you might remember that being the WS where the Rangers blew an 8th inning 7-4 lead in game 6) that's the new record, Eckersley had previously held it with a 0.614 WHIP
  16. i'm very eager to hear about the interactions Mr. Oklahoma's had with hockey fans
  17. fine, you can have your baseball, and your Brian Wilsons
  18. http://25.media.tumblr.com/17d83bdafca692fecfe72282c8a5dda3/tumblr_msvlykalEU1s9fzcoo1_400.gif
  19. i want Anderson and i want him bad
  20. looks like Louie Anderson diving into a pool
  21. this is schoolyard football
  22. Jeremy Gallon just set a school record for receiving yards in a game...with 1-1/2 quarters left to play
  23. yeah, even with Mattison, we definitely don't have better coaching as evidenced by the 30(!) RB carries for 28 yards...good coaching doesn't repeatedly tell the other team "hey look at this formation, we're going to run the ball this way!" PSU was epic trolling Borges over his categorical aversion to WR screens: http://mgoblog.com/sites/mgoblog.com/files/images/Picture-Pages-The-Dumbest-Play-In-The-Hi_B7A2/eFlqGZa1.jpg and this was in OT when we needed just a FG to win
  24. THAT IS A THING THAT HAPPENED? please be true please be true please be true You get excited over weird things. tell us more about weird things, Todd Wellemeyer/7th Heaven Dad avatar guy
  25. people here are super meatbally, too; Quentin Berry got a huge ovation in intros for some bizarre reason also a guy behind me at the Tigers game Tuesday was squawking about sending Hunter and Jackson on a double steal with Miggy hitting
