  1. fWAR doesn't really do Miggy justice, imo for that same 3-year span, here are his situational splits: Bases Empty: 1035 PA .321/.397/.570 (.417 wOBA) w/ Runners On: 1002 PA .361/.458/.652 (.457 wOBA) w/ RISP: 606 PA .379/.490/.675 (.468 wOBA) using his overall line and plugging in LW values for each event, as WAR does, assumes that he's hit no differently in high-leverage/clutch situations which are often much more valuable to the team; it paints an inaccurate picture of what actually happened so it's worth noting during that same span, he's been about 6 Context Neutral Wins better than Trout fwiw, Trout's hit for a .380 wOBA w/runners on vs. .421 with bases empty during that span
  2. we're seeing this year that Denard covered up a lot of problems in the offense, so i don't have an issue with that (we essentially don't have upperclass interior OL [thanks RR], so the added reps still wouldn't be of any benefit now) it's not Borges' fault that we're kind of running an offense that our personnel is ill-suited for, but it is his fault that he tips play-calls with formations and never counters or audibles out of it, so that semi-intelligent DCs eat us for lunch minus-69 rushing yards in the previous two weeks and we're still running play-action under center on 3rd & Goal from the 10
  3. "I think he's going to be a great one, when I buy into a quarterback, I really do." -Dennis Green, 2002
  4. Yep. "Consistently good in every game he’s played, Josh McCown is now up to 7th in our PFF QB Rating which takes account of drops, spikes throw-aways etc. Coincidently he’s also now up to 7th in our overall grading."
  5. This game has no impact whatsoever on Ferentz or the fans' perception of him. Some think he's fine, some want him to go. His buyout is still the biggest hurdle for Iowa. Similarly, while losing to Iowa would be bad, Hoke can save his season by beating OSU. You don't gain or lose much at UM in the Iowa game. I disagree re Hoke. He isn't going to beat OSU, so he needs this game to avoid a 7-5 / 3-5 record, which - combined with the anemic offense and up and down defense - will put his head squarely on the block. 8-4 / 4-4 isn't much better, but it probably will be perceived that way. I don't think the difference is going to matter at all. If he can't win more than 7/8 games next year, he's likely out in matter whether he wins 7 or 8 this year. They could still win a bowl and finish with 8 wins. But that difference just doesn't matter. 4 losses is too many at this point in his tenure with the team. with the way that he's recruited it makes no sense to not let him have at least a year with his own upper-classmen a coaching staff (OC, OL, RB) shakeup is badly needed though, and i hope he realizes this and does the same thing Beilein did with the basketball team a few years back, when he overhauled his staff
  6. this secondary is pretty atrocious
  7. 327 passing yards for Stafford in the first half alone; this is such a fun offense to watch
  8. Northwestern just punted out of bounds at the 10 their own 10
  9. this offense is a complete disgrace
  10. 2 targeting ejections in like a 2 minute span in this UK-Vandy game Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk
  11. i'd prefer Theriot to Hollandsworth solely on the basis that i'm not 1000% sure Theriot completely sucks in every way at broadcasting
  12. Adam Miller ‏@2008_nbalottery 12 Nov @ProfessorParks Nice. And the big ? Is who is #5? AA, PJ or CJ? Jason Parks ‏@ProfessorParks 12 Nov @2008_nbalottery CJ has a good shot; he's a top 101 type. But Alcantara is a very nice player as well. Another top 101 type.
  13. i sorta like the Jets there
  14. Peyton & Brees are the only 2 QB i'd entertain the idea of benching Stafford for
  15. Trent Richardson has rushed for 250 yards on 88 carries (2.8 YPC) for the Colts other Colts RBs have rushed 492 yards on 95 carries (5.2 YPC) enjoy that 1st rounder, Cleveland
  16. check your PMs, i won't try to bore these other people
  17. i basically quit sports talk radio a month or so ago; all podcasts for me now
  18. ugh Borges can't be fired fast enough (he won't be)
  19. Hoke's fine, but if (OC) Borges sticks around i'll be apoplectic
  20. these two kickers are going to develop a complex
  21. Yeah probably going to need another great performance from Tillman on Johnson. Peppers is going to have to get a pass rush going Detroit will be starting 2 rookies on the right side, both backups unlike the Bears' right side. And somebody is going to have to tackle Bush for a change (looking at you Bostic and Wright). who are the backups? Warford's started from day 1 and Waddle (lol) has overtaken Fox as the starter
  22. We can't take too much from his AFL numbers because of SSS, but they carry more weight for me because they line up so well with what he did in KC this season. His Low-A OPS - .841, AFL - .839. And the fact that he's 19 tells me he has a greater likelihood of carrying this type of production forward as he progresses into the majors. If in 2-3 years, the Cubs can have a GG caliber CFer hitting .290/.340/.460 that has great bat control and seemingly would make a prototypical two hole hitter...I'd take it. that'd be a 5.0-5.5 win player
  23. that wOBA column ain't right
  24. hey what happened to the Rick Diarrhea thread
