that's because FIP is limited and mistakenly assumes all pitchers will get hit equally hard Jackson has a BABIP 38 pts higher than his team's average, while Cashner has a BABIP 23 pts lower than his team's average; i think you'd have a difficult time arguing that Jackson performed better this season Cashner's been pretty solid in the 2nd half, too: 2.36 ERA & 3.37 xFIP
