  1. and Brady's TD streak of 52 games ends
  2. Apparently, we're good to go. where was this stated?
  3. Jerry Kill, again with the seizures, wtf
  4. I totally hated Girardi as a player for us, not having the patience for his fucken [expletive] hitting thinking about those early-90s teams and WGN broadcasts when I started getting Cubs-obsessed makes me feel weirdly old and wistful
  5. yet somehow UCLA managed a top-2 recruiting class last year (just ahead of Arizona [which i also understand to be out west])
  6. and all Arizona has to show for him is a crippled Dan Hudson and the spare parts they got back for Ian Kennedy
  7. presumed OSU lean 5-star PF Goodluck Okonoboh picked UNLV mostly i wanted to point out that somebody with the name Goodluck Okonoboh exists, which is awesome
  8. most of it was from Joey Votto for hitting Zack Cozart & Chris Heisey in front of him all the time
  9. so how long now 'til they dump his HS coach?
  10. Luck and the two you picked pick 2 (0.5 pt PPR): Givens vs. JAX Blackmon @ StL Ellington vs. CAR B. Bolden @ CIN yeah, i'm pretty fucked
  11. eh, sure, why the hell not
  12. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_86-X5Fn-0UA/R796HxCaWmI/AAAAAAAABcw/a2wb-a57d2I/s1600/nelson_haha.jpg
  13. i'm low on our chances of making a Stanton deal work, because i don't think they have much desire for kids in the OF; with Yelich, Marisnick, Ozuna already penciled in the OF for a while, Almora/Soler/Lake might not be super enticing i can see it requiring us to part with Castillo, which i guess is fine if we're eager to throw $75M at McCann, but who knows
  14. it's a pretty remote likelihood either could be top-10 QBs in Kelly's system, whereas Freeman does have the proven skills and ability to possibly thrive there
  15. i could see Eagles being a great fit, too who the hell is the Rams backup? they've got to be about ready to pull the plug on the Bradford experiment soon
  16. this is like Christmas for illiniguy
  17. that's pretty surprising; he was a pretty good starter the previous three seasons crazy to think some team out there might be getting a franchise QB for free
  18. that doesn't seem like much to go on. wasn't there something out there about how cargo does most of his damage against fastballs, and that the main thing that coors affects is fastball movement? i'm guessing you're referring to this: http://wooden-feather.com/?p=33 it seems he's become a more balanced hitter since that was posted (2010); this year, he isn't even in the top-30 for (per-pitch) fastball value
  19. How has Reiff done this year? just seen him last week and it wasn't the greatest. I ask this b/c I was pissed the Bears didn't draft him. PFF says it pretty well: Analysis: Replacing Jeff Backus, he has been somewhat protected by his quarterback doing such a good job of getting rid of the ball, but there’s little doubting he’s been a quiet success. There was a lot of fear about he’d hold up and so far it’s been largely misplaced. he did get beat up a little by Peppers though
  20. i'm curious how the Bears fared on those 11 plays they brought in Britton; seemed like a pretty unusual tactic to me at the time of course we did that last year some with Reiff, but that was to graciously notify the other team we were going to try running the ball, so i don't consider that analogous
  21. HOLY [expletive], Yankees were actually worse offensively than the Astros (despite a $200M salary disparity)
  22. i like StL there
  23. that seems to signal Almora (behind Seager & McCullers) won't be top-25 on their list, and Pierce (ahead of Eflin, Berrios, Ross) might even be top-100
  24. for the most part, our (remaining) starters with good peripherals had really poor results Edwin Jackson: 4.98 ERA, 3.86 xFIP (.322 BABIP) Jeff Samardzija: 4.34 ERA, 3.77 xFIP (.314 BABIP) and vice versa Travis Wood: 3.11 ERA, 4.50 xFIP (.248 BABIP) Jake Arrieta: 3.66 ERA, 4.51 xFIP (.190! BABIP) Chris Rusin: 3.93 ERA, 4.46 xFIP (.275 BABIP) however you feel about whether or not a pitcher has a 'skill' to significantly influence BABIP probably largely determines what you think about these guys going forward
  25. @BradGalli Suh on Fairley knocking him down: "That belly overtook everything." http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/191olm57j3m8qgif/k-medium.gif
