  1. my choice is Manny Ramirez
  2. while his UZR error score is at an all-time high, his range has really decreased this year i mentioned this elsewhere, but he may be settling in as a Jeter-esque fielder - more sure handed and lacking range - and if we scout him as such, he's probably headed for a move to his right next season or soon thereafter
  3. i have a hard time right now imagining Castro being moved the teams who'll value his offensive skillset more are going to be turned off some by overblown makeup/effort concerns, and the teams who'll value him more with an analytical mindset are going to be turned off some by his poor approach and shaky defense even moving to 3B, i still see him having more worth to us than another team might realistically be willing to give up for him
  4. Castro had a better OPS in Tennessee at the same age true, but Russell already has more HR in 153 Tennessee AB than Castro did in 1000 MILB ABs MILB career ISOs: Russell - .224 Castro - .111 best prospect in baseball.
  5. Prince Fielder, Alex Rios, Shin-soo Choo all are combining for below-replacement-level production
  6. Yeah, I fail to see the craaaaaaazy part of that previous statement. 55Mil+, assuming for 5 years is about what I expected. If it's only 4 years, that's still doable. Probably going to pay someone lesser similar annually (maybe not as many years) if they sign an OF. doubtful Bryant* / Contra / Soler *Ruggiano / Coghlan til May
  7. Urb not taking the news well http://cdn3.sbnation.com/assets/3740249/sadpizza.gif
  8. yeah i meant to mention yesterday that the MLB leader in WAR is a LF with a .445 SLG
  9. not like it matters, but it would seem unlikely Texas value Hendricks and Villanueva very highly umm oh...now i get it
  10. not like it matters, but it would seem unlikely Texas value Hendricks and Villanueva very highly
  11. Adam Everett?? did the Astros simply elect not to field a SS before the 2000s?
  12. .880 OPS with a .250 BABIP - good heavens
  13. and that's why you always declare for the draft
  14. Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner Michigan announces that Csont'e York has been dismissed from the program. good.
  15. 1.66 / 0.97
  16. that looked like an upper decker, no?
  17. if pressed to make a determination, i'd say right now that i expect that Baez will probably settle into a Soriano-like (the Cubs incarnation) career, with huge slumps and scorching hot streaks
  18. nice play, but i worry Castro's entering Jeter territory where he has to dive for play that aren't that hard for normal SSs but if he's ultimately bound for 3B, i'm cool with it
  19. he must have been jogging on that one
  20. Javi Baez with the lightning-quick tag
  21. missed his location a little bit on that one...
