  2. yeah, we've got a short bench, so i still think i can pick him up after his week 7 bye, provided he doesn't blow up before then (unlikely) if Ingram hadn't gone down, it'd be a really easy call
  3. need to clear up backup RB glut for bye fill-ins; who's the best drop candidate here (1/2 PPR) T Richardson (week 10 bye) P Thomas (6) J Bell (9) S Vereen (10) B Rainey (7) leaning Rainey, i think
  4. i had been getting spoiled with the McGary, GRIII type recruits and had hoped this would be our new normal, especially with the momentum of a championship game appearance maybe we'll get Thornton (or Dozier!), who knows
  5. we were his presumptive leader for what felt like forever, then we took a D3 transfer and cooled on him; probably not wanting to get Devin Booker'd again, but still makes you shake your head at any rate, it's hard to be critical of Beilein's approach these days
  6. we had basically a street FA / rookie 7th round raw project platoon in there at RT, so i wouldn't draw too many sweeping conclusions from it
  7. refs giving Bears a gift, though
  8. Ivory seems to me a safer bet to do that
  9. PFF arguing Geno's made significant improvements: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/09/21/jets-geno-smith-improving-as-decision-maker/

  11. For me, it's any non-football injury is potentially laugh-worthy. Seriously what a jackass. I saw it right when it happened and thought 'instant karma'. "There's nothing wrong with being excited when you make a play. Look at all the work you put into it. All the time and practice you've spent and put into it. And then go out there in a game and execute it well and competitively and make a play … you should be excited about that!" - Bill Belichick
  12. man, i hope so What’s your opinion of the spread punt formation vs. the traditional punt formation? Hoke: “Uh, we don’t use it.” Is there a rationale for that? Hoke: “I think, you know … I’m more comfortable with what we use. That’s the rationale.” [...] Hoke: "I've always been a pro style punt (coach). ... I really don't want to talk about it." and then Utah scored their first points of the game on a punt return TD...with 10 men on the field for Michigan
  13. we're down to our 3rd RT, who keeps getting abused, but the OL will be fine once we get Waddle back

  15. that's at least 6 points the Lions have left on the board so far, which will no doubt come back to haunt them...
  16. every time the Packers run the ball, it's like a small little Christmas present they're giving us
  17. what candidates are out there that'll really inspire hope? it seems firing a HC midseason's basically an exercise in self-immolation, anyway i'm fine with moving on, but i don't see much benefit to showing Hoke the door right now
  18. CMU's best player was arrested for stealing a 62 year old woman's purse. I think you'll win. edit: too bad they didn't catch the moron before he ran all over Purdue lol he's like Mark Ingram, but better
  19. Hester got $9mil over 3 years. Paying that much for a returner/4th WR would have been ridiculous. That's Willie Young money. for Suh's cap hit, the Lions could have 7.5 Willie Youngs that's particularly infuriating
  20. benching a guy for a fumble is such a dumb, meatball move; you felt this guy was your best option at the start of the game
  21. thought this was going to be the one he spiked into the ground that Frazier still swung at
  22. (Rotoworld) Thursday Update: It appears Rainey's monster Week 2 effort did, indeed, change minds. Despite reports Martin handled more first-team practice reps this week, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times told Ross Tucker on Sirius XM Radio Thursday morning that Rainey will start at Atlanta. "The coaches really like him," Stroud said of Rainey. For now, at least, it appears Rainey has passed Martin on the Bucs' running back depth chart. In November of last season, Rainey hung a 30-163-2 rushing line on Falcons DC Mike Nolan's defense, adding two receptions for four yards and a third score. Rainey should be viewed as a strong RB2 play in this plus matchup. Martin is downgraded to an RB3 until further notice.
  23. i think i read Vereen was being punished for running out of bounds on 3rd down to avoid contact before the 1st down marker
