  1. Game 4 looks good on paper... Webb is only 2-3 in day games and the wind is going to be howling out according to Sunday's forecast.
  2. Obviously you'd prefer to forfeit the game, apparently.
  3. this one's going to be a marathon, not a sprint
  4. Z's going to be fine... Soto handles him really well.
  5. So apparently we're getting Dick Stockton and Ron Darling calling our games on TBS, while Bob is in a three-man booth with Chip and Tony Gwynn (they're doing the Yankees/Indians series and then the NLCS).
  6. Marquis makes perfect sense on the roster as he's stretched out, he can be the emergency starter, and he can pinch run and save a real bench player.
  7. We really need a word filter for "curse", "Bartman", and "goat".
  8. http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/story/2007/10/1/124440/990 Sounds like Lou's decided to go with a 3-man rotation for this series. :D
  9. The only question is whether Z on short rest will be better than Marquis or Marshall on normal rest. I think it's pretty clear he would be. You don't want to throw away a potential chance to close out at home. Lilly will be on full rest for Game 5 if he starts Game 2 due to the off-days if needed. If you end up not needing him then, he can start Game 1 of the NLCS and Z can start Game 2 on normal rest.
  10. 4-1 Rockies now and bases still loaded with no outs in Bot 8th If they hang on, the Padres fly out there for the Wild Card playoff game tomorrow. Winner plays Philly on Wed.
  11. Yeah, I hope everyone who shows up in Mesa in the Spring can make it down there.
  12. It'd be bad mojo to pull him while he's on a winning streak though. I say if we win tomorrow he keeps it rolling.
  13. NLDS is set to start on Wednesday. Games 3 and 4 are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday at Wrigley. Sorry, I've been drinking all day, so my brain is kinda mush, but, am I right in saying that regardless of how the other divisional/wildcard races play out, the Cubs will host games 3 & 4 on Saturday & Sunday, & that we'll be playing the NL West winner? If the Phillies or Mets win the NL East then we would play the East winner That can't be accurate, because those are the only two teams that can win the East. The first part of that statement is already 100% guaranteed to happen. It should say, if the Phillies and Mets both make the playoffs, we play the NL East winner. Ah, o.k., so the only thing for certain right now is that we'd host games 3 & 4 on Sat & Sun.... I think.... No, if the 4-way logjam of DOOM scenario happens (Rockies hang on tonight; Rockies/Brewers/Mets/Phillies all win tomorrow), game 3/4 will be on Sunday/Monday presumably. Although I suppose if the Wed game is Padres/Rockies they could go ahead and start the DBacks/Cubs series on Wed and that series would be on normal schedule.
  14. Brewers just tied it up in the 9th.. if they win today playing the Mets or Phillies suddenly becomes pretty possible.
  15. Soto hitting over .400 now
  16. iowa cubs own harang
  17. Saturday games are 5:30/9:00 EST The Sunday games are a 12/3:30/7:00 EST slot You won't see those locked down until Monday (or later, if the massive tie scenario happens).
  18. Who gets game 3? Hopefully a spot start to Gallagher or Marshall. duh, Traschel
  19. http://www.republicanvoices.org/eating_crow.jpg
  20. lol,Len gets the shaving cream pie
  21. *air guitars to hell's bells*
  22. Alright, time from everyone in Chicago to crank this http://www.fanmarkt.de/catalog/images/G722420.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoR8bL-ZXAA
  23. Anyone else in Indiana just lose the FSN Indiana feed of the game?
  24. Wow, he trapped that one.
  25. The Reds announcers are mentioning this and believe his arm angle has dropped. Maybe he has a tired arm. I don't know why, he only leads the league in PAB with 112 pitches a game. His arm angle looks fine tonight, the Reds announcers are just idiots
