    Yeah, the home court/field effect in basketball (all forms) and college FB is gigantic. Massive impact on officiating and momentum. Home field doesn't really seem to determine the ump's calls at all in baseball, and in normal years there's not a big edge in MLB (this year is a huge exception).

    Edmonds has a .400 OBP and a 1.011 OPS for the month of June. He and DeRosa have been carrying us as everyone else on the roster is a cooling/off slumping a bit compared to May.

    I think what'll be bad about this is Soriano's going to lose some power temporarily when he finally does come back (i.e. D-Lee last year), so he'll be pretty much worthless when he does start playing again. Luckily, this is LF, so it shouldn't be hard to fill.

    That's a pretty dumb use of the DH... we need to stick the biggest bat we have who doesn't start in that slot.

    The league basically spots them that many games every year on us because they get to play the hapless Royals for 6 games for their "interleague rivalry".

    I'll save you the time The game is cancelled after 7 innings Cubs go to the World Series But then the WS is mysteriously cancelled due to bud selig wanting to take the weeks vacation. Nah, we won the World Series at home that year over the Yankees thanks to Karros coming off the DL... it was on Fox and everything.

    Soto just hasn't gotten the media hype yet. Kinda been overshadowed by Fukudome. Cubs fans and fantasy types know he's really good.

    Considering the Cubs are racking in the $$$ from Fukudome merchandise and probably getting some Japanese TV money, it's not a straight apples to apples comparision with Murton and Fukudome's salaries. Fukudome obviously has bumped up the club's revenues, probably at least enough to cover the salary difference.

It was super nasty Friday.
