    It'd be pretty dumb to blow things up while the window for the current team is still open. Canning Hendry won't change much for the 2010 season, either. Hopefully you get the right player development and scouting folks in place and get the draft philosophy changed a bit, but I would think you can start to do that without switching GMs. The rest of the suits on the non-baseball side are pretty good at their jobs.

    Manuel *really* overmanaged the 8th inning... was a different reliever for every batter practically.

    Cards will still have to win some games to lock up the division in any scenario where we're actually a threat to win the wild card in 9 days. Plus there will be other teams in the mix.

    Might be only 5 games back in the loss column if SF holds on, so who knows what would happen if we can get super hot down the stretch.

    That might make sense if we had some good cheap young players to build around, but we really don't. I'm not building a team around Soto and Randy Wells. I say you wait a couple years, then blow the team up.

    Giants have lost and the Rockies look like they're going to lose at least once today, so it's a better start that most recent days.

    someone needs to try to take a goat into Busch Stadium already.

    The problem is we have the West Coast roadtrip of doom coming up and the @ Mets roadtrip of doom. Luckily we're only 3 games back in the L column, so things aren't quite as bad as they seem, but we need to get off the skids ASAP if we want to stay in this.

    At least the Cardinals finally lost, but it'd be nice if the Rockies and Giants would start losing so we would have some margin for error.

    Pretty clear this game isn't going to get in tonight looking at the radar... dunno why people are even messing with the hour by hour forecast. There is another line of rain building at the IN/IL state line as well

    Pretty sure this one will get rained out... they got 6 inches of rain in Louisville in a hour. Flooding everywhere here in S. Indiana and that's on the way to Cincy.

    Pretty decent trade for both teams, IMHO.

    The contract situation isn't *that* bad... Soriano's the only really bad contract. We will have a lot of flexibility after 2011 and 2012 to retool the team. IMHO, the window closes for the current group of guys after 2011.

    It's a joke that the managers don't have challenge flags to throw instead of going out and arguing. Net game delay would be the same.
