  1. I'd go with Edwards for 2-3 innings (hasn't pitched since 7/1, so maybe he can go 3?) + Richard for 2 innings (replaces his side session). Then bullpen or Wood/Jackson
  2. Indiana Mr. Football and Mr. Baseball. Warmed the bench at Michigan as a QB behind Chad Henne. So leadership and he's probably better than the average baseball player in a bench-clearing brawl.
  3. Pretty good last four days. Would have been nice if the Pirates lost one but I'm not going to complain since they just lost 5 of 6 to the Nats and Reds. Picked up three games on each the Cards, Giants and Mets. The Cards/Pirates have a 4-game series after we play the Cards next week, so it's a good opportunity to gain some ground.
  4. Simon Winthrop http://www.simonwinthrop.com/
  5. What could we get from the Mets for taking on Bobby Bonilla's contract?
  6. It would be spectacular if that turned out to be in any way accurate. Dude can hit, has great makeup and work ethic, more athletic than a lot of the scouts thought who only saw him in the CWS when he was dinged up in 2013.
  7. As a hilarious postscript, Indians just DFAed Marcum
  8. I don't know if it's OK, but I'm sure it's not definitely not OK. Maybe Schwarber was better all along. Schwarber's not always going to be locked in, but even when he's in a slump I don't anticipate him striking out nearly to the level that Soler has this year. He's a better hitter and more polished at that then Soler is. He has power because he's as strong as @#$%, not because he has a big swing.
  9. Soler wasn't even born when that came out. I'm going to guess no. I don't think they had many video games in Cuba so he probably thinks it looks amazing.
  10. Schwarber gets his first MLB dong off a position player?
  11. Remember when a good number of people were like "WTF another hitter?" and "Why did we go with an underslot pick??" during the 2014 draft.
  12. Rizzo bomb I think Schwarber stole Marcum's soul with that triple
  13. Dude is a leader too... notice how he was assertively high-fiving everyone and chatting.
  14. Definitely should lose some draft picks if this is true Pretty blatant cheating and breaking the law.
  15. IMHO, it'd be very smart to bring Schwarber up for a couple weeks to DH or maybe play LF. Would give us another big lefty bat to go with Rizzo. Schwarber's got a very advanced approach as a hitter and would be fine at the MLB level at this point. Bring him up and then send him to Iowa once the stretch at AL parks is done. Then he can come up again when rosters expand in September.
  16. A camera inside each base would seem to be an easy thing to do.
  17. Also Herrera's Double Bubble bucket rally cap is awesome and needs to be a thing.
  18. MLB Network had the Pirates announcers. Watching them freak out after the trip was hilarious.
  19. Is this it? http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/U0FZfISoAgw4QdxmgqENuw--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7cT04NQ--/http://l.yimg.com/os/publish-images/sports/2014-11-03/99adf400-63a7-11e4-b66f-555f867e25cd_joemaddonRV.jpg Someone at least needs to photoshop some sweeper brushes on it
  20. Nope, he's a catcher. If he were in any other org, then yes, he would be a LF/1B/DH. Thing is, we have a 1B, can't have a DH and most likely will need LF for Bryant. It's in our best interest to make him a catcher. Got to have good enough pitching to make up for any framing issues, that bat at the C is just too much of an impact. I'm pretty sure Schwarber will end up being at least an average framer back there. Dude is going to do whatever the Cubs ask of him to get better, and the front office thinks they've figured out how to teach pitch framing.
  21. It feels like Bryant has been up for a month now and not just 8 games.
