  1. If we take the $2.5M option on Walker, can we use him off the bench? 2B Cedeno SS Nomar 3B ARam Bench: Neifi, Walker
  2. Dusty, thank you for not running Prior out there for another inning. =D>
  3. You know Prior seemed to be copping a feel on J-Rod during that play at the plate. I'm not saying, but I'm just sayin..  homosexuality must be contagious (i'm kidding, people).
  4. nunez, you should be earholed next AB in this series.
  5. i'm sorry, but the was an error on Cedeno. grrr
  6. no offense, but I'm to the point now where I think no strike out by Mark Prior is beautiful. he will never return to the dominant pitcher we saw two years ago if he doesn't start pitching to some contact and stop pitching the count full after getting ahead early. his infatuation with striking guys out is absurd. on pace to yet again not make it into the seventh. it's not logical to argue that no K (a single AB) is beautiful b/c Prior isn't as dominant overall as he was in '03. Actually, Prior is dominant in Wrigley. It's his away split that sucks (5+ ERA). He is pitching around people too much though. His pitch count is usually around 100 going into the 6th, so I can see what you're saying.
  7. I believe he had Tommy John surgery in 2003. You are correct. so that means he is an injury prone pitcher? i always thought injury prone means 1+ injuries.
  8. wow, we made Suppan look like Cy Young out there that inning.
  9. argh, the two out walk. what's going on with Prior this year. he's still solid, but not '03 Priorish away from Wrigley. :?
  10. Absolutely. If we were in the race I'd say sit Patterson but since we're not there's no reason not to play him. Murton should of course play instead of Burnitz. Burnitz's presence has became a cancer. how so? :? It's not Burnitz's fault, but our dumbass manager is wasting valuable at bats on him every day. oh, you mean his playing time considering that he probably won't be back next year.

  12. Tell me, Hendry isn't trying to alienate as many Cubs fans as humanly possible? Tell me Hendry isn't trying to condemn any young player in the Cubs system? If this is true, the Cubs might as well trade Dopirak, Harvey, Pie and any other young player (with any value) because these youngster would have no value to Baker. Plz, Cubs don't make the 2 yr mistake. 2004/2005 Cubs are the real team under Baker, not the 2003 team. http://www.suntimes.com/output/cubs/cst-spt-cub05.html Well guys, Baker will be here for awhile. Get out your booing sticks. or the pitch forks.
  13. how does Dusty deserve an extension? :?
  14. wow, a player whose stock fell faster than Nomar's.
  15. it takes almost as much range to play 2B as it does SS (play it well defensively anyway, lol). 3B is where Nomar should move to, but that spot is taken on our ballclub. Later Nomar. I wish it could have worked out, but we need people to be healthy and not put us in the fix we were this year. SS was supposed to be a strength position for us...instead it turned into a weakness offensively. Cedeno starting in '06 is good news. Time to play him every day, Dusty.
  16. very maddux-like in the W/L results at a reduced price.
  17. I agree. However, in this market and with the state of our farm system (studs 1+ years away from being solid contributors on a $100M ballclub) we're probably going to have to overspend. The FA market is going to be brutal.
  18. Player AB with runners on ABs with RISP Total Abs % Abs w/ runners on % Abs w/ RISP DLee 196 112 498 39% 22% Jones 256 160 502 51% 32% Pujols 229 118 509 45% 23% Clee 253 155 525 48% 30% Burrell 234 144 467 50% 31% Cabrera 285 158 519 55% 30% Delgado 207 124 434 48% 29% ^^^^^^^^^^ Very nice :) - exactly my point! I would love to hear the double talk if someone asked Dusty about this. dood, why would you put high OBP guys on in front of your 3-4 hitters? you just don't have access to the stats I do.
  19. As Santo pointed out, you gotta expect that when you square around too soon. what? you can stand there all day showing bunt. throwing high and inside when the pitcher knows you're bunting is garbage. it's harder to move away from the pitch when squared up to bunt. that's not garbage, it's baseball. the only move you can make is to lean back. you can't move forward into the pitch and side to side movement is near impossible. it's fine to throw inside, but not head level. that's not baseball.
