Could be keeping it in his back pocket for when it counts. Also a change up is better the second time through the order when they have already seen the fastball.
Dibble on his XM show trashes ESPN with regularity. Said that in the production meetings they were telling him what to say, then telling one the others to say the opposite. And yes, they are very NE corridor centered.
From one of my good friends and Instructors in college. " God is a big baseball fan. Yes he is. All you have to do is look in the bible. Right there when you open it to page one. Look, every time it will say, 'In the big inning'. What more proof do you need that baseball is the best sport out there?"
Earl Weaver believed that the best way to bring a pitcher along was for his first year to be in the bigs to pitch from the pen. Apparently they believe Guzman has the stuff to pitch on this level. If they believe that is true then he really has nothing to learn by going back to AAA. Plus having him here is insurance. Need an emergency start? He can do it. The added psychological factor is that the young hungry kids will push the vets. What better way to motivate someone than challenge their professionalism? You think Miller or Marquis want to loose their rotation spot to a rook?
According the the XM guy it started when Lou said something in his post game comments about Wood would be taking a few days off with something that really wasnt serious. The reporter went on to say that Lou dosent realize yet that in Chicago, Wood / Prior everything is serious.
Vince, oh Vince where for are thou? Personally the jab is a bit low. Miller has a funky delivery that screams arm trouble. Blaming that on Dirker is like blaming me for you not winning the lottery.
The Series against the Cubs in Cincy, July 27-29 are tagged as "premium games" which increases the cost of the ticket by 5$ per ticket. That means an infield box seat will be 45$ A field Box will be 37$ While the second deck and outfield seats will all be be 25$ with the exception of the bleacher seats which will still be cheeper than the nosebleeds at 15$ I took my dad to the second game of the year last year and watched the slugger Arroyo go deep twice off Rusch. The stadium is nice and easy to get to. We stayed in Covington, Ky and walked across the Ohio. Saved us about 20 dollars a night by doing that. The stadium also has a nice museum that you can go through on game day by presenting your ticket. All in all not as fun a trip as Chicago, but hey it's time spent with dad.
Actually if a player is on the 40 they are not tested. I watched a player on Pitts 40 man playing AAA telling the pee man to go away using unfriendly language. The MiLB testing people came in with a list of who they could and who they couldnt test. Everyone else lined up outside the facilities in the clubhouse.
Not what you want to see out a reliever either. Yeah...but he did basically get 4 outs before giving up the HR...the E at short and then the missed third strike...give the guy a break.. Sorry about that, sarcasm dosent come off well on a message board.
He already owns another gaming company and it is sucesful in its market. http://www.multimanpublishing.com/about.php The word is that he has gaming buddies set up on road trips and on days he dosent pitch he games.
One of the posters here sent the A's guy an email telling how to pronounce one of our players name. The email ended with, "Give a shout out to North Side Baseball".
