    I think you're dead on about them just wanting any soccer property. They've been an MLS partner for years and have barely given the league any exposure.

    I really loved NBC's production and promotion. It's a damn shame they wouldn't pony up. And yeah, the MLS Live/FS2 things are to me, the things that make this deal [expletive]. ESPN has treated MLS poorly historically, and Fox is just garbage when it comes to soccer. I get that the $70m per season is a big number, but if it comes at the cost of half the games banished off the SD-broadcast FS2 (which most people don't even get), is it really worth it?

    I am not a fan of the new MLS TV deal. Not at all. FOX is a [expletive] platform and putting MLS games on FS2 (which no matter what they say today will happen) is going to be detrimental. I also don't like ESPN gaining all digital rights, as MLS Live is one of the best things ever.

    Aaron Murray? Who is Andy? If you are referring to Aaron, I'd rather use the pick on more defense or a WR. Maybe a TE. Personally, I think there will be enough veteran QB's looking for a job that Trestman can mold into a decent enough backup to Cutler if Palmer isn't capable or they want some competition in camp. I will forever screw up his first name.

    Kind of odd we'd play a closed-door game against a potential R16, but whatever. Omar Gonzalez is out for a couple weeks at least with a knee injury of some sort.

    If English wasn't my first language and I had to go before some kangaroo congressional panel, knowing that my words are going to be dissected ad nausem, I'd bring a [expletive] interpreter too.

    Oh my god I just saw a clip of the equalizing goal. That was absolute [expletive] defending. How do you leave a guy 15 yards of space between your CBs? Great chest-flick to play him through, but lord in heaven. Dat defending.

    Because LFC probably blew any chance they had of winning the title by virtue of that 3-goal chokejob. And all the players know it. Between Gerrard's first touch/slip last week and this, they've blown a chance at their first title in 25 years.

    Positive for the Fire: Harrison Shipp looks like he's going to be a really good MLS player. His set pieces are excellent, and he's just got a great instincts. The ball finds him in good spots and he makes good decisions. I'm not sure if he has the pace to ever be an NT prospect, but it's nice that the Fire have an interesting player for the first time in years. Johnson, Shipp, Joya (if they can keep him) and Magee make for a potentially good core in a year or two. Negative for the Fire: Juan Luis Anongano is [expletive] pants. A complete waste of money. There's still too much dead weight on that roster for me to believe in them as a playoff side.

    I want Montreal to win so that Canada remain befuddled on how to support a technically Canadian team full of fans that hate the rest of Canada.

    FIFA adding it to the calendar is the final step. That happens, and it becomes immense. If it doesn't, it could be a giant letdown.
