  1. Germany have too many central attacking players on the field; if their plan is to have Boateng overlap CR7 is going to destroy them on the break
  2. I think that a 0-0 draw with lots of cards for Germany is the best outcome. Although I am very unconvinced that this particular German team is any good.
  3. Marginally related, this gif sums up how I'm feeling about today:
  4. I took the day off intending to sleep in and later watch the game. I woke up at 5. I cannot wait.

  6. Yeah, today's matchups arent great. Hopefully there's at least one good game from the bunch. The only one that has the potential to be interesting is the Argentina/Bosnia game. Oh well; this is what happens when the first 3 days have so many great matchups; with the Swiss being a weak seed, we were bound to have a boring one at some point.
  7. So its going to rain heavily on Monday. Shots from distance are going to be our friend; Ghana's keepers all suck.
  8. I thought England was extremely unlucky to not tie that game. They had chances; they finished and executed very poorly in the final third. Rooney has no excuse for not burying that shot in the 2nd half. Likewise, I think Ivory Coast were really lucky that Japan (mostly Honda) blew numerous chances to score their 2nd. I'm amazingly unimpressed with CIV. Today might be a boring day; Switzerland sucks, and Ecuador is boring. Honduras is probably going to get crushed, and so is Bosnia.
  9. Well, group G just got fun. This World Cup has just been ridiculous so far.
  10. CRC has played this game about perfectly. So, so far, Holland beat Spain to avenge 2010, and CRC beats Uruguay who beat them in the playoff to go to 2010. Here's hoping the vengeance theme continues.
  11. Greece is playing surprisingly non-boring. They've actually sent multiple players forward quite frequently, and Columbia are letting them drift forward to try and hit them on the break.
  12. Just finished watching all the Holland/Spain game. What a beating. Every single thing I dislike about watching Spain bit them in the ass today. Holland finally look like they all like each other; amazing what time and growing up can do. Sneijder, RVP and Robben all at various times over the past 8 years have spent World Cups arguing on and off the field. There's a togetherness there now that could really make them difficult to deal with. Tomorrow, I've got Columbia, Uruguay, England and Japan all winning.
  13. Australia looked a lot better than I thought they would. Chile got away with a complacent performance. So far the games have been outstanding. The refereeing hasn't lived up to the players yet.
  14. Cameroon are really awful. Quite frankly one game in, Mexico's the best team in the group in terms of how they've looked.
  15. That miss by Hernandez was so bad. I actually like the crew ESPN uses for Mexico matches. Ale Moreno trolls those guys pretty hard; I actually think he should replace Twellman in the booth for US games. He's insightful without being biased and pretty funny. He's also not afraid to give constructive criticism.
  16. Mexico's getting absolutely robbed. The ref and these AR's are a joke.
  17. That penalty decision was just the worst. Brazil are such a paper tiger.
  18. Why come?
  19. People don't think Messi is great? In relation to the overrated Maradona, Argentines dont like Messi and there's a trendy faction of soccer fans that think Ronaldo is better. When healthy, Messi is. So, yeah, people think he's great. Just not great enough. Well, I happen to think that CR7's a better player.....
  20. I think they've been gifted a really easy path to the final. If I'm not mistaken, they won't leave the cooler, southern part of Brazil until the semifinal. They'll also pretty much have homefield advantage down there.
  21. 3 Fearless Predictions: -Argentina are probably going to win. -The first team that punches Brazil in the mouth in the knockout round is going to beat them. -England are going to make a deep run.
  22. Completely fine by me; last thing we needed was some Belgish jackass injuring one of our starters.
  23. Yeah, Landon's not exactly a personality made for soundbytes.
  24. This thread owns.
  25. I can see that. This is what I got: USA 3 GHA 1 POR 1 GER 1 POR 2 USA 1 GER 2 GHA 2 POR 3 GHA 2 GER 1 USA 1 Portugal : 7 pts USA: 4 pts Germany: 3 points Ghana: F Ghana
