  1. Mikey is wilting under the pressure. No excuse for not finishing it.
  2. He's been shadowing CR7 and tracking back well, allowing old-ass DMB to jump forward. Zusi has been the wing that needs to come off.
  3. The right subs in this game are going to win it or lose it. Portugal's already burned one. JK absolutely has to get it right. There's space behind their CBs. We have to exploit it.
  4. Got to find a way to even this up. I'm not sure what the right move is here. As much as it pains me to say, we should probably bring Wondo on at some point, probably for Zusi. Zusi and Cameron have been poor. Almost everyone else has been decent-to-good.
  5. Yeah, if we score, its going to be from FJ running onto a through ball into space.
  6. Water break? Really? When we're in possession?
  7. [expletive] hell. We need to finish one of these.
  8. Clint, do not shoot this.
  9. Good thing we have the players on the field needed to attack. Oh. Good thing Portugal isn't good in the counter-attack. What?
  10. That's amateur [expletive], Cam. 2nd straight game our gameplan goes out the window early.
  11. Last thing: Depending on the circumstance, this may be the game we see Green.
  12. Yes and not really. Yes because Portugal is up against the wall and we're playing in the Amazon. Not really because I want no part of having to get a result against Germany. What's everyone got? My head says 2-0 Portugal. My heart says 3-1 US. I will say if we are level or better at the 35 minute, we're going to win.
  13. Hopefully he just plays like a false 9 and not a target man.
  14. No excuses if we get beat on the flanks today. Zusi and Bedoya need to give FJ and Beasley cover, especially if they jump into the attack.
  15. So not to get too far ahead of ourselves here, but if we advance, we're getting either Belgishstan, Algeria or Russia. Those teams are beatable.
  16. As much as Algeria is better than people think, Korea is absolute hot garbage.
  17. When Hazard tries, he's great
  18. Because most of our players grew up in the US and play during the summer in places like Houston and Dallas and SoCal. The forecast for Manaus today is about the same as the forecast for Houston today. Portugal never gets that warm, and those guys play in the fall, winter and spring.
  19. I would feel a lot better about the game if Jozy were playing in it.
  20. So I guess tomorrow probably comes down to the first 30 minutes of the game. If we can get through that level or ahead, I think we'll win. Portugal is going to throw everything at us possible in a do-or-die game. As the game goes on, you'd have to think the combination of heat and humidity and pressure will wear them down faster than it wears us down. I dunno. I have trouble envisioning a CR7-led Portugal being eliminated after 2 games, though.
  21. BiH eliminated by the refs. Gutless and incompetent officiating.
  22. Why Ibesevic doesn't start for BiH is beyond me. Dzeko needed to do better there.
  23. The ref we have for tomorrow is very card happy as well. I dunno. I don't have a good feeling about it.
  24. I don't know if its necessarily overconfidence, but you think about Portugal, and you're getting to play them in the jungle without Pepe, Coentrao and Almeida, and maybe without Bruno Alves as well, and with a less-than-100% CR7...you could not ask for a better opportunity and a better time to play them. Which probably means we'll come out flat and lose a la Poland 2002.
