  1. Yeah, the pushback against people who point out the flaws in our underpants gnome rebuild tends to get ignored when it comes to who derails what.
  2. Pray tell why that is? Is it verboten to criticize "the process"? criticize the process in the major league forum all you like. Some of us like to talk about the prospects and follow their development without being blitzed in EVERY THREAD with complaints about "The Process". Nothing's stopping anyone from talking about the prospects. Most of these posts are talking about how the prospects are doing. People being alarmed at the saviors of the franchise struggling in the upper levels or getting hurt or whatever is a perfectly reasonable discourse.

  4. It's always (somewhat) a looming danger for teams that play from the back. Though it's even more surprising considering that wasn't a defender, it was a skilled central midfield. As is not uncommon, in possession, Liverpool splits its central defenders and Gerrard (deep-lying playmaker) drops deep centrally to initiate attacks. Which means it's not uncommon for him to be in the middle of the field, with the ball, and no defenders behind him. It's something you trust him to do but that flukey slip (preceded by a less-than-ideal first touch) pretty much ended the play/game, as you said. Yeah; it was the first touch that really was the problem; the slip seemed more the end result of him realizing that he just basically put Ba through on a breakaway.
  5. Hooray for prospect attrition. Which was totally unforeseeable.
  6. Chelsea are honestly [expletive] terrible to watch. It's like watching a bunch of kids in blue shirts play Red Rover and just line up at the 18 yard box. [expletive] anti-football.
  7. He's on cheat code mode right now.
  8. You're not the time, Kent. You're not the time.
  9. i can see how cindy sandberg screwed the team, but how did ryno do that? by retiring? ehh, that's a bit of a stretch. the cubs should have sosa back in some way, shape or form. if the tigers can have a statue of the wife-beating bigot ty cobb in front of ford field, i believe the cubs can make amends with a superstar that left early on the last day of the 2004 season. he made them [expletive] of money for over a decade and to hold that one incident over his head is so petty on their end. He retired like 2 months in, didn't he? That's far more selfish than blasting Pit Bull or reggaeton or looking at the light of a camera after hitting his 3rd home run of the day or whatever Sosa did that was so unbelievably selfish that it resulted in his excommunication from the organization.
  10. Mark Grace is a sloppy drunken jackwagon who could have very easily killed someone during one of his many DUI's, and he's colorful. Ryne Sandberg screwed the team with his hissyfit retirement thanks in part to his whore wife and the meatballs couldn't wait to have him manage the team with his buntery. Sammy took HGH or wore a suit of drugs to press conferences or whatever, hit 600 homeruns for this sorry assed franchise and F HIM AND HIS SALSA MUSIC U CANT LEAVE EARLY ON A DAY YOU ARENT SUPPOSED TO EVEN PLAY
  11. You're not the time.
  12. ARam is easily one of the best Cubs players in the modern era.
  13. I think this is just an example of one of the hundred things that can go wrong with prospects before they reach the majors. That's why there's snarky-assed comments about the overall plan.
  14. No, I'm sure its Ricketts, and it just adds a pebble to the dumpster fire of stupid the past 5+ seasons have been.
  15. I think Kerry Wood doesn't like Sosa (wasn't he the one who smashed Sammy's boombox?) I think this is a big part of the problem. If true, then Kerry needs to get the [expletive] over it like a grownup.
  16. Tom Ricketts IS a meatball. He probably tried to invite Mark Grace back until he found out he was passed out in a dumpster somewhere He only really wanted the dumpster, though. Man's gotta eat.
  17. There can't even be that many people in the FO left from when Sosa was here, so this [expletive] just smacks of either fear of the meatballs, or outright stupidity. Sosa was the only good thing this stupid team had for years.
  18. oh lord [expletive] this team and organization.
  19. NBA refs are the worst. This applies to calls going both ways tonight, but just in general. They're almost universally shite.
  20. Jose's teams are the most boring borings in the history of boring.
  21. Sporting are a really, really solid team; its hard to call favorites so early, but they are certainly one of the top 4 sides in the league, I think. I don't know that they'll win Supporters Shield if only because they'll be without Besler and Zusi for a month, but MLS Cup wise, they're in the mix. The organization post-rebrand is amazing and Sporting Park is a great, great atmosphere. One thing that I will say is that Peter Vermes is a little too in love with his hard working hacks, and doesn't always let the attacking players run wild as much as I would if I were him. Thanks! Looked up Supporters Shield. Like the President's Trophy. Got it. They're very skilled, but not as skilled as the elite offensive teams and they're also extremely physical. The Blues would be a good hockey comparison. The Blues are an excellent comp, actually.
  22. Again? Might be a hard sell to go down that route (not that that is a terribly rational thought process). You'd think they would look at Klopp or Simeone. Klopp would be the best fit, IMO. At least he'd know how to use Kagawa.
  23. It would be a completely deserved firing, but I'm a little surprised that they're actually willing to do it.

  25. This is going to be a very good series; St. Louis is a good team that is trying really, really hard. It's pretty respectable. This series will end up coming down to how quickly Toews and Kane end up back in rhythm. The longer the series goes, the more likely it is the Hawks win.
