  1. Is Rocktober before or after Smarch?
  2. I would prefer to keep Hinrich. Gordon is redundant with Bryant. I kind of see Wolf's point re: Deng. There's definetly a limit to Luol's ability, as good as he is. If you could build a deal around Deng and keep Hinrich and Gordon, I'd probably do it. The trickiest part is going to be matching salaries. They'd almost have to include Wallace, and LA is going to probably want Thomas, and maybe Thabo as well. I'm not sure how a sign/trade with Brown would work.
  3. and they'd laugh at you Think so? If I offered them Gordon, Thomas, Wallace, and a couple picks and salary filler, do you really think they're going to get better offers than that from anyone not in their conference? we'll see, but I'm betting they would rather trade for Deng straight up than any package of filler/picks I'm sure they'd rather do that as well, but I don't see how they have any leverage. He wants out. They want him gone. He can opt out after this season. Dallas isn't going to deal equal value for him. New York has a pile of crap they can deal. I suppose Phoenix could deal Marion and others for him, but that just makes Phoenix much stronger and LA a ton weaker, and it's in their division. Kobe would veto a trade anywhere else. They're going to have to mae a tough decision. They can lose him for nothing, or get 70 cents on the dollar for him. I'd rather have 70 cents than nothing.

  5. I'd trade them Gordon, easily. Without hesitation. I'd keep Hinrich and Deng.
  6. What do you call Bono? Or Cher? I'd call Bono Jesus. I don't call Cher.
  7. Rozner is such a tool.
  8. I think research has begun on this. You're six months late to the party. What's a Desipio? Learn Latin. Of course, this assumes that you think that I: -Don't already speak more than one language -Am being serious -Have ever been to Desipio -Care But really, thanks for the heads up. I really need to be more careful about message board intellectual property rights.
  9. I like the fact that, aside from Clint, Szetela, Adu and Bradley all seem to be pretty edgy. We need players that defer less to the opponents and take none of their crap.
  10. His incredible math skills managed to factor in the New York offense.

  12. Seriously. Bradley is going to have to get creative with his lineups to get as many of these guys on the field. I really liked Edu as well and think he needs some consideration as well. Barring injury, those 8 need to be called up to every major international competition. I'm pretty excited for our olympic squad. I really would like to see a 3-5-2. That gets our 8 best on the field.
  13. It depends what Boston wants, and what Manny wants in exchange for waiving his NTC. That said, I just don't think Boston would move him. He's too productive, and his contract as it is isn't that prohibitive.
  14. He played about 5 minutes in a game against Canada in early 2006, but this is his formal international debut.
  15. First, the most important thing here was that Szetela and Adu both are now cap-tied. Screw you, Poland and Ghana. Second, Szetela and Adu showed why players like Twellman, Wolff, Ching, Lewis, and assorted other spare parts shouldn't sniff the field barring catostrophic amounts of injuries. Those two are going to be the real deal. Third, Dempsey needs good players around him, not because he's a fouth option who can't come through like Donovan, but because he's at least two steps ahead of his slower, crappier teamates. You put other creative players with him, and he's freaking deadly. You leave him on an island with nothing getting to him from the mids, and you get what you got in the first half. The US should never play a game without some combo of Dempsey, Adu, Donovan, Beasley, Feilhaber or Bradley and Altidore in the game. Anymore. Ever. You have to have at least 4 of them on the field together. That's got the makings of a very intriguing, attacking core that we haven't had, like ever. Why was Danny Califf on this roster? Why did he play? He sucks and has no future with the 'Nats. I like the fact that we got a win in Europe, against a decent side. I like the fact that Adu and Clint hooked up for a very nice exchange late. Twellman and Lewis shouldn't play anymore. Gooch is nearing backup status in my world.
  16. I factored in a deduction of 1 for wearing batting gloves.
  17. IM STILL WORKING ON MINE. We have a problem. Ill be done by Saturday making modifications. Example: 26.9 Barry Bonds 10.9 Sammy Sosa 4.1 Augie Ojeda Ill get on it. Awesome.
  18. I think we should get to host a chat, too.
  19. Ok, so between Meph's formula and mine, I think we have something with which to email BP and offer them our metric for money. I'll call one G.R.I.T.Factor and one IsoHUSTLE. The question is, how much do we want for it?
  20. Heh, I have to deliver a proposal for work and I have a feeling that my lunch break and the traffic back to the office will be suspiciously long. My boss is gone though, so it's okay. I'm stuck waiting until I get home at 7 to watch. i'm really looking forward to it, but my expectation is that few of the players I want to see on the field will see the field. Who do you want to see the field? I'd be stunned if Adu and Szetela didn't play. Really? I figured they'd come in for 10 minutes at the end. Hope I'm wrong. But I think it'd be just like Bob to call them in to "experience the intensity of a senior national training camp" or something and then give them some garbage minutes. Maybe with Szetela, who really isn't a prospect like some of our other guys, but I think Freddy will get 30-40 minutes. He's finally getting time at Benfica, and I think he gets rewarded. I'd love love love to see him start behind Clint, but I doubt Bradley would be so bold as to do that. I think he comes on at about the 55th minute or so, give or take. The most important thing is that he gets in the damn game and gets cap-tied, though. This is an A international, no ifs, ands or buts. I'd love to see something like: ------Dempsey-------- -------Adu---------- Beasley--------Zizzo ---Feihaber----Bradley As our top six. We need to make better use of these friendlies. Eddie Lewis isn't going to be a factor in the hex. We need to get these guys developing, asap.
  21. Be prepared to be upset. I think he's going to start on the left, if only so I can have a flashback to the most disasterous, stupid decision of Bruce Arena's USMNT tenure. There friendlies should be all about preparing the young guys for WCQ's. Not for guys like Lewis and Twellman to take up space.

  23. This works better: ("player name" "plays the game the right way")/Games Played*162 89.6 Dustin Pedroia 47.1 Ryan Theriot 40.3 Derek Jeter 32.4 David Eckstein 23.1 Alfonso Soriano 19.8 Manny Ramirez So this offseason, when considering a player to be aquired's merit, we need to include his G.R.I.T.Factor along with OPS+ and other useful metrics whilst deciding his desirablility.
