  1. It's not so much an overreaction. I've not thought much of this team most of the year. They've had a ton of breaks (and taken advantage of them) but they have so many flaws. Fans get ahead of themselves looking at the record and expecting dominance. This team isn't that good. The o-line can go from passable to traffic cone in an eyeblink, for example.
  2. And this should also crown you drama queen of the forum. Not sure if serious. The defense got worked every time New England decided to try. I'm sure some of it is the snow hurting the pursuit aspect, but against good teams, they tend to bend and break.
  3. This is gloriously embarrassing and should serve as a wake up call to anyone who thought this team was actually any good.
  4. That was a great finish from Stu. We're going to get to the point at some time this cycle that we're going to have at least one, probably two really good mids left on the bench. Good problem to have, but Bradley has to make sure he works with every possible pairing.
  5. This. Z was terrible in that game. What was it, 4-0 after 1? I wish I still had the video of Wood's HR in Game 7. That was a fantastic moment.
  6. That 2nd kit is awesome. That's what a badge should look like.
  7. I all for them getting a team because they seem to be the best of the cities left (Vegas isn't getting one any time soon), but are they really a great sports town? I just thought they were kind of a meh sports town. The Seahawks run at 99.9% of capacity at Qwest and the Sounders average over 30k per home game. The Mariners only ran at 54% of capacity, but they were beyond terrible, and I think that city would be over the moon if the NBA moved a team back there. Even when they were terrible and everyone knew their scumbag owner was moving the team they still averaged about 15k their last season there.
  8. Don't hate on the Crew. They're massive. Seattle should be front and center if the NBA moves a team. That's a great sports town.
  9. Or Carlos Pena, who is a better option You're assuming we even rate Pena.
  10. We must have needed that $8m for two relievers or something.
  11. LD's twitter:
  12. That's what I mean, FIFA ignored all of their usual guidelines and requirements.
  13. Where did you find that. So they probably picked up all of Australia's votes. To lose to them 12-10 would be one thing but that was not even very close, looks even worse on FIFA's part. First round: Australia 1, Japan 3, USA 3, Korea Republic 4, Qatar 11 Second round: Japan 2, Korea 5, USA 5, Qatar 10 votes Third round: Korea 5, USA 6, Qatar 11 Fourth round: USA 8, Qatar 14 I think Wahl is the source, or AP.
  14. So we lost 14-8 in the final round of voting...
  15. It's going to be a South American best XI. 12 years is plenty of time to go buy off some parents from Argentina and Brazil to move there.
  16. Here's a fun exercise: try to find 15 sites in the state of Rhode Island to host games, plus sites for training grounds. All within the state border. What a stupid idea. When do the vote rolls go public? Yup. They gave the World Cup to Connecticut. Except Connecticut is bigger. And has over twice as many people. But has 500x less money (no, really). Come on, I was shocked and disappointed as well but this could be a pretty neat event. Sure, if you like empty stadia. Or slave labor.
  17. Wahl says it was US/Qatar in the final round. I'd love to see who hosed us...maybe it was Sepp with the tiebreaker.

  19. In honor of Qatar's anti-alcohol beliefs, all future FIFA celebrations will look like this instead of using Champagne. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm16/dhohulin/FIFA.jpg Perfect.
  20. So to sum this up, USSF and the FMF agreed to go along with some cocked up WCQ format so that Caribbean banana republics can get money in exchange for Warner's support, and then we crap out and, despite having the indisputed strongest technical bid of any country bidding on either cup, we get shut out. Great year, Sunil/Chuck
  21. Someone photoshop Xavi holding a barrel of oil instead of the Jules Rimet trophy.
  22. [expletive] of the highest order.
  23. "...or, as the Qataris call it, maize".
  24. I thought China was expected to be next in line? 2026. Something tells me FIFA will move Qatar to a different federation sometime between now and then so as to keep China 2026 a possibility.
  25. Someone reporting Spain/Qatar...
