  1. Get ready to bend over, world...
  2. Oh man I didn't even think about that. Do they even have a team? WTF Btw, Al Jazeera is reporting it is indeed Qatar. The Al Jazeera report is based on a tweet from some Qatari prince...still hoping for a miracle.
  3. Grant Wahl just tweeted that the Qatari delegation are getting hugs and handshakes from FIFA officials. What a joke.
  4. Is Morgan Freeman missing a hand?
  5. My point on ownership was in relation to the note about the Bears needing to fix things. Also, the reason the capacity is so low is because they decided to build it inside the existing structure. It's very tight in there and not much they can do to add substantial seats. There were two issues with Soldier Field: capacity and width of the field. They could probably remove a couple rows on either side and then expand in the North end zone or something. This is also an event 12 years in the future. A lot can change between now and then.
  6. Ownership of the facility won't be a hurdle to expanding capacity. It's the city that would benefit from being a host site, not the Bears. It's millions in tourist dollars and economic help and free advertising for the city itself. If we win the bid, the city would be colossally stupid not to. Basically, if the city wants to be a host, it'll end up happening, considering Soccer House is based here. Wolf, why pesssimistic about the bid?
  7. Ridiculous stuff from Specs. Probably saves Grant's job.
  8. Clint now 3rd all time in Fulham goals scored in the EPL.
  9. Dax is going to be a big deal in DC. Really good player to build your midfield around. If they can field a competent backline they'll be decent next season.
  10. They aren't going to give the World Cup to effing Qatar. They can build all the air conditioned, indoor stadia they want. They have one city. It would break all of FIFA's rules regarding hosting capabilities to put 12 stadia in one city, or in a bunch of pissant villages or whatever they have there. No one from Europe is going to want to go to Doha to party. The bid is all about FIFA's ExCo getting paid during the process, and Qatar will end up getting some press for their little league or whatever. It's us or the Aussies. I think we have it in the bag.
  11. Its always difficult to take 5'3" ginger seriously. He is not afraid to strike from distance and put the ball on target well tonight too. Yeah this neutral of a site was complete crap too. Supposedly the [expletive] TFC fans staged a walkout at halftime to protest their inept management. Garber's announcement of the new playoff format was pants too. Keep it at 8, seed it single table, do away with conferences, and you solve the problem. Instead, we have now the possibility of the 9th and 10th best teams winning MLS Cup.
  12. Cunningham completely scuffed that. Horrible. Dax is a better player than I had given him credit for.
  13. Damn, great save, and then so so close from Dax
  14. FCD has to score to rescue what would be an embarrassing result.
  15. bwahahahahaha what a shite winner
  16. So Conor Casey is going to spend the entire game gooning it up? This game should be the death knell of neutral site finals. TFCs fans suck.
  17. We'll see on the former. Seems like a sop to FIFA's whining about it and geared toward helping our bid.
  18. Hell of a game so far.
  19. Yeah, I have no use for the Harangutang, but Vasquez would be a solid signing.
  20. OnGoal has made noises about Boxing and Lacross and such. Maybe not literally playing in SKC's stadium in some cases, but organized by OnGoal through Sporting.
  21. A big part of why KC changed to Sporting is that their ownership group intends to expand to other sports out of the same complex, within the same organizational structure. So, from a strictly literal point of view, Sporting Kansas City makes some sense given what their vision is. That said, the badge kinda sucks. No mention of the club's history and it looks like a cheap, lazy knockoff of the MLS Eastern Conference shield. The font on the KC blows-someone compared it to mating roundworms-and the way Sporting is in there is lame. At the end of the day, though, as long as the team is competitive that's all that matters. Their new stadium is going to be pretty B.A. Also, I wish theyd rebrand the Fire.
  22. Agudelo's finish was nice, but Mix's pass to him was sweet. He flicked it up to himself in traffic in order to make the pass. That's Clint-esque. Love it.
  23. Traffic is the company Fernando Clavijo pimps for. They're an affront to everything.
  24. The interesting thing about FCD's dismantling of the 'Gals is that their depth is very, very suited to the CCL next season. Their academy is the best in the league at this point.
  25. So Auburn's D-line decided to take as many cheap-punk hits on the opposing QB as possible, and for their trouble they now have two guys suspended for the 1st half against Alabama.
