  1. I'd like him to start in the bullpen and see how does there first. Give him some mop up roles to get some sort of confidence. I remember him coming out of the bullpen last year and he looked really good. I could definitely see him being effective in that role. He's great in flashes right now. Example: giving up a homer to Iguchi then striking out Thome on 3 pitches. Since I'm pretty certain its a confidence issue, whatever helps him out most is great with me. Also, his future with the Cubs if he has one could very well be in the pen. If a free agent is signed, and Guzman is more preferred in the rotation, there may not be any room for him in the regular 5 unless there's injury (which you can always count on). Z-Prior-Zito/Mulder-Marshall-Guz Hill could be the young Glendon: lefty spot starter in the bullpen, just gotta get him a few twinkies and he's on the fast track.
  2. When he first came up last year, he looked very good. Ever since that Mets game with Nomar's return where the infield forgot how to play defense, things have been bad. I'd like to see him get an extended chance to start through bad outings to see what he's really made of.
  3. Wow, Prior vs. Broadway. That should be quite the game.
  4. He's got that curve going nice this inning since the sac bunt. ARAMAGEM
  5. He kind of clutched the left shoulder on the ground.
  6. Jacque and Hank White are getting awfully close.....
  7. Murton grounded out to third on a 2-0 count and Cedeno grounded out to 2nd on a 1-1 I believe.
  8. who are you calling a GoFo? You, I never really liked your whole act.
  9. Nice 1-2-3 for Marshall 4-3 GO, FO to center, 6-3 GO
  10. Good AB by Barrett. 8-9 pitches and a linedrive back to he pitcher
  11. Ay dios mio. You know what time I think it is? SOTO TIME!
  12. What he said.
  13. Fixed. Shoulder surgery. This is the hardest sugery to come back from for a pitcher. He's going to have his ups and downs in the rehab. Last night his velocity wasn't there and neither was his control. It was just a bad start so we all need to exercise a little patience.
  14. That tells me Hill is forever a AAA pitcher. Everytime he has come up here he has royally sucked. They should have dealt him when "everyone that called mentioned his name". How Hendry ever tagged him as an untouchable defies logic. How can you write anyone off completely after a small amount of scattered starts in the majors? I think it could be in his head and he just needs to get consistency with his control like he has in the minors. I think he could be a good back of the rotation guy if he's given a long-term shot. A two pitch pitcher in which his out pitch, he can't consistently throw for strikes and a fastaball that is medicore at best. Doesn't look like a recipe for success to me. Maybe in AAA but not the big leagues. I don't know about you but I've also seen a 76-80 mph changeup. With control, he can be solid.

  16. Is Grudzielanek anything great on defense? He's better with the glove, but enough to make up for the offensive difference? I don't really think so.
  17. The question is, how long can he be kept down? He's flirted with so many no hitters, one of these days its going to happen.
  18. Ronny is also very young and has strong chances to improve on his numbers.
  19. His control has been good in the minors, but doesn't happen in the big show. It leads me to believe its between the ears. I think if he didn't have to worry about being jerked around after 1 bad outing, you'd see some improvement. He's really close, and there's still hope. Chances are he will be needed next year.
  20. I'm curious to hear thoughts on Chris Shaver. Big, tall, lefty, 4th round pick in 04 out of college and has gone up pretty fast through the system. Decent K rate that's better this year and not so good BB rate. What's his stuff and projectability like?
  21. I thought I read that Pie was working on his plate discpline, and has started to slump a little since. The guy's 21 years old, in AAA, and producing decently for a CF'er. Before this year he only had half a season above A ball , so I think we can be a little patient with him.
  22. He's coming off shoulder surgery! Give him a chance to build up some strength.
