    Strangely enough, on the new morning show on ESPN 1000 radio, Sean Salisbury had Mike Ditka on as a guest, and he talked to Ditka for five minutes about whether Dusty Baker is a good manager or not. I can't wait to hear how Derrek Lee grades the Bears draft or what Todd Walker thinks the Bulls should do to improve the team in the offseason. Isn't Ditka more qualified than you or I to give an opinion on Dusty's skills as a manager considering Ditka has at least coached professional teams?

    Their 3rd baseman is a bum. Just punishment would be to send him to the Cubs (paying all of his salary) and forcing him to play SS. He'll really feel bad when that Ronny Cedeno kid has to move to 2B.

    Todd Walker would have been a fine leadoff guy. Leadoff man was only a weakness when Dusty would bat Corey leadoff. Murton too.

    But Vance, if you give them Pie, who is the Cubs CF for the next generation? Please don't say JP. With the Ramirez/Lee/Cabrera/Murton/Barrett core, you could just have Greenburg play CF and get away with it. Good OBP historically. I'd also throw Ronny into that core.

    I think the world of Marshall after the way he has adjusted to the bigs, and it's because of this adjustment that we should consider selling him for an impact bat. His trade value has got to be tremendously high right now, and we need to take advantage of that before something happens. I'd prefer to not see Marshall and Pie go in the same deal, but Miguel Cabrera is one of the few who are probably worth it.

    Pie is in AAA at 21 years old and has moved up 1 level every season he's been in the organization. He was signed at 16 and began in our system at 17. He is making terrific progress. How can you be sick of hearing about him?

Murton and Cedeno should have been starters. Theriot is likely destined to be nothing more than a role player. Even if he is just a role player...this Greek Tragedy needs some new actors. Agreed.
