  1. Makes more sense just to do away with pitchers' W-L records. Should've happened long ago. Then how would they figure out who gets the Cy Young?
  2. Yes. I see. Seems like something the NCAA would be all up in arms about. There's only a problem with endorsements, I believe.
  3. I know that's what the staff at Baseball America suspects, but that might not be the case. Samardzija wasn't guaranteed to be there in the 5th round. It's possible they're just very high on Colvin. If you drop the "on Colvin" part from the end of that post, it's a more likely assessment in my opinion. I'm with Jon on this one.
  4. What's that mean? You mean, like, not swing at the 1st pitch? I don't get it.
  5. They would be if they faced our lineup.
  6. Already being discussed: viewtopic.php?t=32601 http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=32601
  7. But Hendry isn't going to trade Jones so it doesn't matter. I don't think you'll see a trade where it looks like we're getting rid of him and throwing in cash to help, but I can see Hendry trading him as value in a package to bring in an impact player. I really can't. I would be very surprised if Hendry traded Jones. As would I. June 15th is when the Cubs can trade Jones. I don't see them making that type of move until near the end of July and I agree that Jones is in Chicago to stay. For a minimum of 2 years.
  8. I'm in a meeting and come back to this? The game ain't supposed to start until I'm ready. What did I miss?
  9. At his age, my guess is napping. I thought he drove trucks for a living? He's not napping, that's dangerous. He's probably drinking. If he's a driver, then you're right -- that would be much safer.
  10. I was just checking them, and I realized his line against lefties is now 238/273/500/773. He's still got a long way to go, but that is a HUGE improvement over where he was a couple weeks ago. He had a couple of big hits off Claussen and Mercker, and he slapped Mulder around on Saturday (3-4 with a BB). Has he changed his approach, is it just that this is coinciding with a hot streak, or is his hot streak because he's hitting the lefties?
  11. At his age, my guess is napping. That's just wrong. What? I kid, I kid.
  12. At his age, my guess is napping.
  13. I'm not sure I see the high reward part of it. The physical piece is there, but what I'm finding are statistics that leave a lot to be desired: 4+ ERA, 1.4 WHIP, etc. -- there's just nothing that jumps out at me and says it was anything but a bad, bad pick.
  14. Does Dusty have anyone who can fix Blanco?
  15. Thanks, I always get excited when hot prospects and top draft picks come up to the bigs regardless of the team.
