  1. He'll be there late this summer.
  2. As would I. Seriously, where is the evidence that Marquis will somehow veer from his norm and suddenly become good? Is it the friend-of-a-friend account of Rothschild finding some miracle cure for his mechanics? Meph, devilish as he may be, has provided enough evidence to the contrary.
  3. I'll put it here, too. You could have checked the front page of the site for more timely and accurate information. :D Tim your notes in the minor league forum said Shark was sent to Daytona. Was he sent to high A or AA? Daytona, according to the official Cubs press release. Is that a pitcher-friendly league?
  4. To say he's among the worst might be a slight exaggeration, but the point remains that he's just not good.
  5. Ha! I just sent this about an hour ago: "Who do I have to sleep with to get Plesac to take a short break from all the yapping?"
  6. I'll never understand how Hendry could justify going into 2005 with the OF he had, which pretty much guaranteed Burnitz would get a ton of playing time. He was, uh, hamstrung by the sosa situation. Which is why we had to have Burnitz instead of Beltran. Or something like that. It's a good thing he didn't do anything silly like re-sign Moises.
  7. If you're referring to the reading that displays in the OF, I wouldn't put too much faith in the reading. A friend of mine and I watched Kerry Wood top out at 86 according to that one night, and we also saw Nate Teut hit 98 on some off speed stuff in 2003.
  8. Guzman was apparently granted another option because of medical reasons, so he does appear to have one more option year. This is correct. It has been reported by more than one source that Guzman was granted a fourth option year because of the time he missed due to injuries. Even if that weren't the case, I'd be quite comfortable with him in the Chicago rotation this season.
  9. Pierre was awesome 3 times last year.
  10. What exactly have been the injuries slowing him down?
  11. That's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it. It's tough to watch the I-Cubs when their lineup has guys like Donny Leon, Nate Frese, and Jeff Deardorff.
  12. This shouldn't even be close. Beyonce wins easily (and I am a huge fan of the Shakira).
  13. The problem with your logic is that it's void of logic. You beat a team by 13 that was outside the top 50 (and still is). And they're not EASILY a top 25 team, but that's another issue altogether. You also got beat by 30 to a team at 77 and lost by 24 to a team at 165. The committee will look at those before they get to a ho-hum win against USC.
  14. Up your ASS.... We are 11-6 in conference, clearly showed we are at least 4th in the Big 12, yet we still get no respect. I love dilusional Big Televen fans..... Go win at Texas. Guarantee it wouldn't happen. So we lose to KU 2x....but only lose to aTm by 4 at their house, while we only had Walker for 5 mins of the game......no, that didn't matter.. We came back from that, without our best player, to win 12 of 16 and finish 4th in the Big 12...... If KSU is NOT in, I'll drive to Indy and show MANY people my ASS! No need to take it personally. KSU is as bubble as they come, and I agree it's because of a weak division. Aside from a 1 point win at Texas, they have no wins against the RPI top 50. They really don't have any quality losses that I can see either (maybe A&M). Getting blown away by Cal and New Mexico by as much as they did certainly won't help either, no matter how early in the season they occurred. They beat the teams they should have beaten and weren't very competitive against too many other tournament-worthy teams in their losses. I will though... read the stats I posted in my last message. As for RPI top 50 wins... we have USC (After tonights soon to be win), UT, and TT....all top 50 RPI Teams (USC will be tonight) TT just happened, I already mentionet UT, and USC is not in the top 50 and wasn't when they played.

  16. Bruce said Theriot has a spot, was there another guy that I missed? EDIT: Was he talking about Rich Hill?
  17. Well that's a backhanded compliment if i ever heard one. That's just a backhand.
  18. Is there any doubt that Soriano will get hurt after signing that huge contract? Felix's stay in Iowa won't be too terribly long.
  19. I agree. 50 grand for a high reward type player is a pretty small price to pay, especially with Griffey getting old.
  20. Poor Woody. I wonder if it would have been scored that way in Mesa? From the description of the play, it would have been the same way-it was a bloop apparently that Izturis couldn't get to. Especially if it didn't hit his glove (which from the story, it doesn't sound like it did) they would usually never call it an error. There goes that Izturis, driving in runs with his glove again. That's all right-he was too busy doing well with the bat like he has so far in ST :D It's too bad he'll get it all out of his system before the season starts.

  22. Any truth that Wood's only topping out at 53?
  23. He's no longer a coach!! :D Tell that to Musberger.
