  1. I just want to reiterate how much I enjoy baseball in HD and screw everybody for not making it possible to have WGN in HD on DirecTV I was watching several games last night, the slow-mo replay of David Wright's HR was one of the coolest things ever -- the seams on the ball were clearly visible. there was a closeup of LaTroy's back in the NYY game where the stitching around his jersey numbers was seen. great stuff then there's the WGN SD feed which makes me feel like I'm watching it through my window on my neighbor's TV and he's got his lace curtains closed
  2. How's his swing look so far Rocket? i have no idea. i just saw it in the box score. it looked pretty darn good on that pitch, but it was also a belt-high changeup right down the middle I was watching that game for a while until I discovered the beauty that is the MLB Game Mix Thanks. I wonder how he looked on the balls in the dirt. I'm thinking I only saw 2 AB's from him, and he didn't look any more polished
  3. wow, who would want seats with a big huge net right in front of them? I'd ask for a refund

  5. Ryan Theriot is not good enough to be a starting SS for a contending MLB team. There really isn't much else that can be said about that -- he is who he is. I don't think anyone here dislikes him personally or thinks he's the worst player to ever don a Cubs jersey, and that assertion is just plain asinine. If he does happen to do something good, most rational people see it for what it is -- that even a broken watch is right twice a day. You're allowed to appreciate anyone you like, and as long as Ryan Theriot wears a Cubs jersey, I wish him nothing but great success. The reality is that those successes are likely to be few and far between, and I like to be grounded in reality. It's foolish to assert that he's our best option for the position, and it's even more foolish to make a numbered list with inaccuracies and hyperbole.
  6. if you're in the market for autographs or interaction, the I-Cubs exit the stadium from near left-center field. visiting players come out right in the left field corner. most have historically been quite generous with their hospitality. the best time I had was when OK City was there a few years ago. they had Doug Glanville (on a rehab assignment) and Manny Alexander (I talked to Manny for a few minutes and was the only person in the crowd who had any idea who he was). we moved over to the I-Cubs exit and met a few (Trenidad Hubbard was tremendous with the kids, great guy), then moseyed on over to have a few beers with Rod Beck at his RV (another great guy)
  7. no, he really isn't Yes, he really is. I can only think of one other person on the team who plays shortstop and you can't be talking about Cedeno. Who is this anonymous shortstop? I can be talking about Cedeno, for one. DeRosa would also be better.
  8. the death penalty should be expanded to those who make ridiculous statements like yours

  11. I'm at the mercy of gameday as well, but I have 2 monitors so I can watch and "work" at the same time
  12. let me know when your flight arrives, we'll tear it up
  13. there's a nice shot of the capitol building over the center field wall that looks gorgeous when it glows during night games
  14. 75-100 might be an exaggeration, but there are plenty of options if you're willing to walk up to 10 blocks I'll reiterate that the park is beautiful, great place to watch a game
  15. good thing you bumped this, I've been looking for it for weeks
  16. Theriot is too turrible to hit 1 or 2
  17. Good Job, BudHouse
  18. I was thinking constipated
