    That's a 10.55 K/9 for his career, insane. Also, I thought the batting line you posted were his numbers at the plate for a minute. that would make him better than corey, at least, last year. Pretty close to Corey last year: 229/260/271/531

    Then why do you keep harping on the team's lack of success and the assumption that this fact somehow justifies a Prior deal. He's 24 years old. If you judge a 24 year old pitcher on what he has not yet accomplished as a baseball player, you're not doing a good job of analyzing the game. He's 25 years old as of September. Then by all means, get rid of the old bum.

    Why hasn't MacPhail or anyone at the Trib stepped up and slapped him silly by now? My God, is the entire group of ownership and management completely ingorant??? Edit: I think that 2nd question was way out of line considering we already know they are. No sense beating a dead horse.

    What??? The Cubs wouldn't have even sniffed the playoffs (let alone made it to the LCS) with out Prior and Wood. FAILED?? Oh my God. Maybe I missed it. Did we make it the Series that year? Im glad we made it to the playoffs...and almost made the Series. That was 2003...and he's been less than dominating since. Oh my God..quit acting as if he's Superman. There were other players on that roster, no? Last I checked, baseball was a TEAM sport. Sure, Prior or Wood could have gone out and no-hit the fish, but the offenses could have scored more runs too.

    Yeah.... and you can still be disowned, boy !! If you disown me for this, the terrorists win! I don't think I like the Prior proposal any more than most of the people here, but I will state the following: to all those talking about defecting to the A's or buying an O's hat etc, don't let the door hit you in the behind on the way out. The Cubs wil be around a lot longer than Prior or any player or Hendry or any GM or Baker or any manager. I thought we were fans of the TEAM. People come and go. It's getting harder and harder to root for the TEAM when Hendry and Baker seem content to make is suck more and more.

    I know Hendry has made some dumbass moves, but is he really stupid enough to make this one? I just keep thinking about the move that landed us Nomar and Murton and how we gave up very little to get them. Or the one that got us Lofton and Ramirez and how little we gave up. Or getting Lee for Choi. Can he truly be this dumb suddenly, or do you think there's probably a whole lot going on that we don't know about yet?

    I agree. In fact, I'd probably take Patterson off that list and add another bullpen arm (Welly, Novoa, Wuertz). They need a lot of pitching. Patterson can go to Boston.

    I have a friend who confessed to his boss, fellow co-workers, and his mother that the day before his random urine test was the only time he had ever smoked weed. I believe he smoked more than Dave Chappelle and Snoop combined for several years leading up to the test.
