    2008 ibb: 38 2009 ibb: 44 2010 ibb: 34 2011 ibb: 15 there's some of them. How much does Matt Holliday account for drop in intentional and slightly-less intentional walks? When Albert is the only impact bat in the lineup, it's easy to pitch around him 3 times a game. Pujols also had about 50 fewer PAs this year than the last 2. And he was just not as good (.200 drop in OPS). So that probably accounts for the decreased fear of giving him something to hit too, esp with Holliday and Berkman behind him. Finally, and maybe most likely, Ryan Theriot convinced him that being a slap hitter that doesn't walk is where it's at.

    Thankfully none of the cheap shots from AF ended any seasons. If Navy can take out one of the freshman DEs, ND is really screwed the rest of the way.

    My son is 4, and his favorite Cubs are Starlin Castro and Theo Epstein. Yep. Finally convinced my son that Theriot is a [expletive]. So Castro is his favorite player. He should be able to remember the first cubs WS of his lifetime.

    Why not? See above. Let's assume for a moment that there's even a 1% chance that Epstein to the Cubs falls apart. Hoyer's not going to quit his job in San Diego if there's a chance he has to work with someone other than his superbestbuddy. The Cubs aren't going to hire a new GM if there's even a tiny chance they have to find a new President (who will presumably want some sort of say on the GM front). Seems like baseless speculation by you.

    So Hoyer is going to continue being SD's GM when FA opens even though his boss told him he could leave bc his assistant is getting his job? And Theo is going to be Boston's GM and the Cubs won't have a FO at all? Psycho Larry probably finds this hilarious.
