  1. lol I know, I know, your football coach, AD and president let a predatory pedofile wander around with only a token attempt to stop him from his continued molestation and rape of children. That's not really *that* bad, is it? And they let him use his reputation, which was gained completely thru his connection to PSU, to do it. It's really a funny situation. Don't have your posts be even bigger idiots than they usually are. Obviously I was laughing at kyle's reaction and not the fact that sexual abuse occurred. Anyway, the football coach of the program you support is a murderer, so I'd drop the holier than thou act. Ah yes, there it is. You held back awhile, but ran out of anything else to deflect to so you call me (I'm sorry, my posts) an idiot and then bring up ND. I'm not holier than anyone else in this thread that is disgusted by JoePa's inaction. My reactions and posts have been in line with everyone else's...except yours. So yeah, I'm the idiot bad guy.

  3. Joe's gone rogue.
  4. That would be excessive. And very unlikely. Unlikely, yeah. Excessive. Nope. His actions could have stopped this all. I would love to see the old man [expletive] himself in a prison cell. He's not legally required to report it to the authorities. Unless something more damning comes out, he's not going to be charged with a crime. And he shouldn't be.
  5. Part of me feels sorry for him. He can only blame Sandusky and himself here, but I do pity the man for being in the situation he's put himself in. I guess I don't have a lot of pity for him, at least not in the sense that I feel sorry for him. His inaction resulted directly in child abuse. He could have prevented it easily, there was no intervening factor that shields him from blame. If these kids were local, they probably held JoePa in this almost god-like esteem. And the man completely let them down. Clearly Sandusky is ultimately responsible, but Paterno isn't worthy of sympathy.
  6. Whoa. I mean, there's that 10-year period where he didn't stop his friend from raping young boys. So maybe not his entire life was a success. Finally being forced to step down after not actually being a coach for years bc of your failure to stop abuse isn't really a terrible ending. It just sounds like you're feeling a little sorry for Joe.
  7. it's lovely. quite a bit better than milwaukee. you should consider a lifestyle change. whoa really? because the grand jury indictment includes only one sexual assault after 2002. if you are withholding information i suggest turning that over to the police immediately. The reports say this went on until 2009. Only one instance occurred between 2002 and 2009? That seems...unlikely.
  8. PSU's lawyers aren't dumb enough to let Joe take questions on this. Wonder why it took so long to cancel.
  9. You're honestly arguing that the law should not encourage reporting child rape bc people might report false claims against their enemies? You'd prefer fewer claims get reported for fear of a few false claims. We're not even talking false convictions, just false allegations. Holy [expletive].
  10. Anyone can go to the police with a claim of sexual abuse today. The law doesn't prohibit reporting child rape bc the law isn't that stupid.
  11. Boston is too far away and just ran out the guy that led them to two WS. Or I could go to Chicago and work for the guy that structured those WS and not have to play the yankees every year.
  12. In this situation, no. It couldn't be that you have a different opinion. There's absolutely no one alive that thinks Joe did the right thing, except jerry sandusky bc it kept his sick act going for another decade.
  13. i'm disappointed. i figured if anyone could appreciate a good holier than thou attitude it would be yourself. Notice I said attempt. I don't believe even you are sick enough to think JoePa was in the right here. You've got a family member that was a victim, you worked with kids that are high risk for this [expletive]. Yet you don't think doing more than the bare minimum to comply with the employee handbook is enough. I'm just going to have to believe you're trolling.
  14. Your ability to attempt a holier than thou attitude when defending someone who took far less action than decency demands is a little sickening. Your analogy sucks. I don't care who JoePa hides behind in legal matters. Of course he tries to stay out of it. That's CYA 101. But he knew children were being raped by his friend and didn't do everything he could to stop it. His inaction likely directly led to additional instances of child rape by this man. For all of that, he should forever feel deep regret and shame beyond more than only the worst of people. I couldn't live with myself if I thought children had been raped bc I did nothing to prevent a known molester from further attacks. But his inaction brought shame and embarrassment upon his employer and for that he should be fired. If my son played for PSU and I thought JoePa had any actual coaching role at all, I'd yank him out of school before Saturday's game in hopes of preventing JoePa from inflicting irreparable damage on his moral compass.
  15. no, he just said that sexual abuse can go on unchecked for years because of people like me. sorry if i didn't take that as positive commentary. i'm probably more outraged than most because it happened at a school i attended and certain people prominent in the administration completely disregarded their professional duties (not to mention their moral failings). the number of people you're willing to throw under the bus is not a good gauge of one's outrage. I'm in no way suggesting that wolf's comment was positive. But it's not stating that you support child abuse. JoePa is psu athletics. You said yourself that he's a personal friend of sandusky. His heir apparent got fired for unknown reasons, yet still has access to JoePa's building. JoePa hears about alleged child rape against a friend and former close subordinate and effectively passes the buck without the slightest concern for the dozens of children whose lives were being ruined. His failure to do everything in his power to put a stop to this is reprehensible. You don't seem to agree that he did anything wrong.
  16. Yeah, you don't seem outraged as everyone else is. But wolf didn't say you actively support it. ETA if you're JoePa do you think you've met your obligation by telling your boss and not caring whether the police are notified? Your posts suggest you think that's enough. If so, yeah, given these facts, you're not as actively against child rape as the rest of us.
  17. How long has he been in baseball? My guess is the cord feels like it's been cut for a while. Getting to spend some more time with your kids, even in college, isn't a terrible thing. And he may not like Boston, either as an org or a city, as well as Chicago. Watching what they just did to Tito may play a role in his decision.
  18. Too high.
  19. You're going to play the victim? Come on. People are disagreeing with your assertion that JoePa telling someone that child rape was occurring in his locker room by a friend and former assistant was all he was obligated to do. Continuing to bring up the unfortunate personal situation you had isn't relevant. No one has alleged that you actively support child rape. We just think JoePa should have done more than make a call and walk away without concern for the children being raped by his friend. Now we think he should resign. And since he has the W record he's always wanted, despite not being an actual coach for about a decade, he can step down. Good timing.
  20. They weren't meant to be equal comparisons. I just like bringing up that Kobe is a rapist. Did allow me to draft him for my fantasy hoops team "Therapists" (ht, snl).
  21. This weekend wasn't the first time this information came out, right? I feel like we heard about the first indications of an investigation a while ago and it has just been keep since then. I have to believe that if this wasn't JoePa, there would be more of an uproar about his ouster. Apparently the media is more interested in free tattoos than children being raped. I think that's true. I didn't realize it was confirmed that Joe had actual knowledge of the allegation before. But I didn't follow it that closely. re the OSU comparison, Kobe won a title shortly after raping a girl while Vick served years for killing dogs so...I don't know...life isn't fair?
  22. Another road night game. Hope Rees is done throwing ducks into the night sky.
  23. JoePa may be looking for a new gig next year.
